if MAF had of stayed in net last season, the Isles would have moved on, but they went to Vocun and he made the difference. but there is NO vocun this year.

could be an upset and i can't wait to see it.

Ok. When he mishandled the puck behind his own net and it leads to a loss whose fault is it then? Ill put it to you this way. I guarantee if they dont make it out of the first round he wont be a penguin next year.

I agree Capt. Unfortunately if that is the case. With our luck. He'll be an Islander!

I jumped out of my seat when CBJ (Dubinski) tied the game up.

Sounds like everyone outside of Pittsburg is rooting for the CBJs.
Now, that is not easily accomplished.

Actually it is on an island. Same Island that the Isles have been on all along.

Try looking at a map Stargazer! Isle are moving about 20 miles.

Since the management committed 100% to status quo last summer (Disco, Fleury, Malkin, Letang, Dupuis, Scuderi), I’ve stopped caring about the on-ice results of this team. The only way forward was then and is now a very drastic and complete rebuild from the top down. The culture of the team needs to change.

I just want to get it jotted down that among and around Penguin fans, the reaction from my inconvenient questions has been an attempt to grasp for free pass or claim treachery, par example;

“You must really hate Letang.”
“Yeah, you’re right, Bylsma is the worst coach to win his division by 13 points ever.”
“Why don’t you just root for the Flyers?”
“Well, the Penguins could be up 3-1 by your logic.”
“Do you actually enjoy watching the games?”

The management, coaching staff, and team are woeful. I’m not depressed about how the Penguins are playing in the playoffs; that’s how they’re engineered. It’s a losing model. I’m depressed that last summer’s trade value for Malkin, Fleury, Letang, and Sutter were much better than it will be this summer.

Once again, replacing the coach or the goalie is not the kind of measure needed for this group of players. President, GM, Coach, total rebuild from the goal out. Young forwards, promotion of the stockpile of young D, implementation of a robust counterattack system. The opportunity was missed last summer to maximize trade return; I hope Pittsburgh doesn't miss the opportunity to put a winning team around Crosby while he’s still in his prime.

Yeah thoughts that goal in the OT is Marc Andre Fleurys fault. Plain and simple. Any goalie in the NHL can and should stop that puck. And he didn't. Pin it on him because I will, he is a terrible tendie.

Wasn't Bill Buckner's fault either. Never should have been in that position because his teammates couldn't hit with runners in scoring position.

The Pens were outplayed the last 2 1/2 periods yes. But there was nothing special with what MAF did in that time. He made the saves he should. There were plenty of posts clanks and chances that Columbus should have buried that had nothing to do with MAF standing on his head. Columbus had control, but they didn't overwhelm the Pens, the Pens still had chances too.

Basically Pens sat back a little too much, MAF made saves he should, didn't do anything great, then blew a fat one at the end.

90% MAF fault.

Did you watch the game or just look at the stats? MAF is totally to blame. 3-0 lead no matter how early should be a win every time, you really aren't asking your goalie that much of him to expect him to win at that point. Especially in the playoffs.

If MAF didn't have a track record of melt downs I would say no he's not to blame. He is to blame as much as the rest of the team is. Since he's the goalie the spotlight shines a little brighter.
I can only hope the pens continue to crumble in the face of adversity.
With MAF being a head case that's a real possibility.
Where has Crosby and Malikin been? They deserve scrutiny for sure.

imagine if Hasek had stud dmen and guys who lit the lamp all the time, I bet he would have 4-5 cups to his name in Buffalo alone.

No, that was all Macnamara, the coach, who should have said.. "Sorry kid, you cant even stand up with those knees, grab some pine"

Lets face it, the whole Pens team is soft, they showed it last year, they showed it this year, and Fleury is as soft as anyone else on the team.

Right, but it did.

Without his first blunder they would've won despite themselves.
The OT blunder is also all him.

How can you not say it was Fleury fault? For the last like 11mins of the 3rd period the bluejackets got off 1 shot and that one shot went in. All Fleury had to do was stay in his net and the game would've been over.
