Actually not a bad idea when I think about it. Gives Lecavalier a playmaker to play with. And gives Simmonds and Schenn a player that can carry the puck and distribute.

who plays center ? Vinny has not played well at all on the wing...and Giroux is the franchise center ?

I don't want to see Couturier playing 20 mins. While its cool he can shut people down you need to score to win and you have a better chance of that with Giroux and Voracek.

Their seems to be a lack of intensity or something from the team right now. 3 games of the Rangers hitting Giroux and no one responds. Rinaldo has been a non-factor. Simmonds seems like a shell of who he was. Some of that is how the Rangers play but some of it seems to be internally caused.

Emery wasn't great..If Mason makes 2 saves on goals they still lose the last game 2-1. Goaltending hasn't put them down 2-1. Their strength, offense, failing has put them behind.

Their doesn't seem to be the nastiness in this series that I thought would be there with these 2. Or I should say the Rangers are hitting that way while one of your 20 goal scorers in Read leads the Flyers in hits and your best player right in Voracek drops the gloves. Something is off with that.

I have to agree. I can't stand their slow starts. Warm-ups aren't there so you can look good on the ice! You are supposed to be ramping up to game pace.
- FlyersGrace

I don't understand how our team is able to do this. I've never seen a tem consistently a no show at the start of a game like we are.

It's been years of this too, so it's not on Berube.

Lecavalier has not played well at LW. He has played on the RW with TB at times and can be effective at that spot. And in moving Voracek to the 2nd line, Lecavalier would be playing RW, not LW. Where he can play on his favored side of the ice as a LH shot facing the net.

He does play an awful lot fo a guy with 13 goals....I mean they even start him at start of the game ? or after a TV time out.....as well I have probably seen enough of the 4th line when they are losing in the 3rd period.

It's a concern to me when we are still trying to check the Rangers top line when we are down by 2 with 15 minutes remaining.

If the Rangers top line scores another goal with 15 minutes left, then you're down by 3. And then it really doesn't matter.

But Sac Rjnaldidlo is are leder and true captain, and energy and heart and....

Yes, THIS. Do it now, as soon as Laughton gets off the (frank)ing plane

- Jsaquella

when Rinaldo is not skating and hitting he is useless....he has not skated or hit....guys knock Carcillo ...but atleast I knew the guy was in the game!!!
I watched Laughtons game last night against North bay.....he didn't look right....

I didn't see the game, but obviously if he;s hurting or whatever, it's probably not a realistic option. I just don't see what Rinaldo is bringing right now.

I'm not gonna get involved in any long-standing discussions, but a question for you guys:

Based on what we've seen this year and this playoffs, would you rather have Jake Voracek or Ryan Johansen?

Johansen, and I love Jake. But that kid is going to be an absolute monster.

There is plenty of icetime to go around to play Couturier 20 minutes, and play Giroux and Voracek more. It happened all Season. Giroux and Voracek's minutes weren't down because of Couturier playing 20 mins.
- MJL

While that is true when you fall behind by multiple goals I would much rather see Giroux and Voracek playing more than Couturier.

I know you made the argument that if the Rangers score again then you are down more but when you are losing by 2 with 10 mins left what is more important: Generating offense or shutting down a team? If they shut the Rangers down at that point they still lose by 2.

Clearly I am not in love with Couturier like some people are here but I 100% realize his value and would only move him for a legit number 1 dman under 30.

Have they tried Vinny on Giroux's wing this year yet?
- eayost

Yes, they did. Didn't work very well. Lecavalier couldn't keep up with the pace and struggles in general when asked to play wing.

They tried him at LW. He'd probably be better at RW in Jakes spot. I just don't like the idea of putting him with Giroux. It may help Vinny's game, but Jake is such a better player.

Johansen and its really not that close.

Could you imagine G, Johansen and Couturier in 2 years?

What do they do with this guy then? If he can't keep up?

Oshawa got eliminated last evening, so Laughton is free to join the Flyers.

As far as being confused by wanting him in the line up, it's simple, I'd rather have him than Rinaldo playing. It'd make the 4th line better and possibly help produce more offense.

- Jsaquella

my confusion isn't from that he's a decent hockey player - but to go from juniors straight into the playoffs is a tall order, even if only for 5 minutes a night. a lineup change like that to me reeks of desperation.

would i be thrilled if he stepped in and made some kind of difference? of course. would it be valuable experience for him? yes. i'd prefer that rinaldo contribute in the ways that he knows how and get a few more minutes of ice time. he can be a very effective energy guy and draw penalties, as we've all seen.

Pretty much. Not much faith right now when our coach is getting out best forward 13 mins of ice
