I expect an NHL dman to play like an NHL dman....that's not expecting too much.

But in his defence, the whole leafs D core were horrible this season.

Why is it that at 7 mil a year Dion's problem is that we have to find a better partner for him? Seriously? Same with Franson. Blaming his poor play on his partner? How about guys that want 4+ million a year be the guys that make lesser defenceman around them better instead of the other way around? I've never heard "Geez if only Chara had a better partner he'd be a better defenceman?" FFS stop making excuses for these slow footed slugs. Dion has ZERO hockey IQ, can barely skate backwards and can't pivot worth the crap. Franson just can't skate period!!!

That is pretty much what it is now. The NHL awards have been a joke for a while.
Although, Green didn't win it the year he led in points for dman.
