Personally I think Niskanen is ready for top line duties. I also think he'll cost a lot. Worth a gamble?

Atta boy. I was being sarcastic. Corsi only looks at first assists.

Player behind his own net fights for possession. Makes a pass to a player who chips it out. His line mates are away two on one and score. The player making the key play gets nothing. Scoring plays usually happen way before the actual puck is put in the net.

It was an example .. 1st assists was used to show that Franson is near the top of the league for D .. and therefor would hold trade value. I posted all assists after... he is also near the top. I in no way said a 1st assists was worth more, or more important.

again .. I am not saying I value one more than the other.

I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the team isn't smart enough to grasp what needs to be done.

It starts with losing your edge (getting lazy, not battling etc...)
Then you try but still lose because of bad luck and although the effort is there you still lack an edge

The losses pile up and then its "deer in headlights" "paralysis by analysis".. you try too hard... you are thinking too much so your brain cannot process stuff fast enough.. you miss your reads... you are always a step behind.....

I think Leafs need a COMPLETE CHANGE. Fire Nonis and RC. Trade every player on the roster over 25. Get assets/trade for young guys. Sign 6 old (frank)s that are smart, have leadership, and can teach the kids. Build a team based on needs (THIS INCLUDES DRAFTS LOOK AT DETROIT).

5 years have a young team, new culture, new life for the Leafs.

The path we are going on will constantly be rinsed and repeated by trying to be a contending team and throwing things away to achieve this.
