If gretzky howe orr, lemieux and lidstrom(all in their prime)..... all played on the same line and played 25 min a game... but their lines 2-4 were ECHL players because of Salary Cap issues... would it be there fault if they were losing 8-6 everynight but scoring all 6 goals and allowing maybe .5 against every night.....

They would be playing the most and have a losing record.. Just saying....

I lean your way on the coach issue. I love how everyone here knows exactly what Carlyle says and tries to teach and how they know all the players are tuning him out. Most players tune out coaches when things dont go their way....

Some of the hits people are taking are ridiculous. There's no need for them. Hitting = Separating player from puck.

Also the league needs to find more respect for each other. You can hate, play rough, go hard. But respect the people you're playing against. Just like the Read hit on Carcillo.

Yeah when I came back from Florida after not watching muchhockey for years and today still...... I can't believe the hitting against someone that might get the puck. Like that hit by Seabrook on Backes... like the puck just brushed Backes stick and he was just flattened. I think the player should have possession and only 1 second after releasing that possession to be eligible to get hit.

I remember my AAA coach just yelling at me for not just flattening someone at every oppportunity 20 years ago, and I don't think it's changed.

It's a team game! Every stat is a team stat.

Player behind his own net fights for possession. Makes a pass to a player who chips it out. His line mates are away two on one and score. The player making the key play gets nothing. Scoring plays usually happen way before the actual puck is put in the net.
