me too.

penguins fans are spoiled and entitled and so are the players. management will be forced to make changes this offseason if this series continues and I cant wait.

I am one of those who thinks that if " fictionally" speaking they were to win a cup, he should get a ring, this is pretty much his team on the ice.

I'm sure he looks at the team and some pride...hopefully not sour grapes. Good hockey man who doesn't get enough respek.

Torts would have Crosby and Malkin on the IR perpetually. He ruined the Sedin's ironman runs due to his expectations in shot blocking. Torts needs to run a team like Nashville with 4 lines of lunchbox players who are interchangeable pieces.

If they win this series, I have CBJ taking it to the finals. If they beat Pitt and then don't I will replace my avatar with something more unfortunate. What shall that be?

Fleury poop the bed and gave them that one but I was definitely rooting for them to beat Pittsburgh. Good series so far
- Ihatebrianburke

He had an amazing game. His playoff failure legacy should not be because of this game. Pitts top 2 lines napped the last 2 + periods. Blame Crosby/Malkin et all. Fleury is the one you don't blame

Second best series so far this round. I was hoping for more out of the LA/SJ matchup. It would be tough to beat the STL/CHI series for pure entertainment value though.

Forsure! The Chi/Stl series is awesome!

They did have an (unsettling) boob show on live tv. And it is the only series to remind me of the early 90s since Avs/Wings Lemieux days. I agree though.

Well, I expected Fleury would screw these playoffs for the Pens. Again.

Wasn't expecting it to happen in the first round, though.

torts isn't the right fit for this group. as unfortunate as it is, this core is a very delicate group. a coach like that would lead to the reason why bylsma was hired in the first place.

I always liked Rick Tocchet as a head coach. would also love to see Billy Guerin be given the promotion work as an assistant coach.

whatever it is now, it isn't working. players and coaches. both need to change.

Really, it's been years since they made a serious playoff push. Seem to lack some character guys. I think the franchise in general is more interested in marketing Crosby and Malkin than winning championships.

anyone saying that MAF was the problem of the playoffs hasn't been watching him. he has been this team's MVP through the first 4 games. his team in front of him has given them absolutely nothing.

at some point, things go beyond his control.

from what I have heard, ownership prefers a more relaxed atmosphere around the club.

to me, this team plays a certain way all regular season. we walk in, out gun you, and win.

that is all well and good in the regular season but the problem is that it doesn't work in the playoffs and the penguins simply don't seem interested in adjusting to that way that they have to play... the end result is this.

it is tough. but it is no surprising. penguins will have a new coach and a lot of new players next year. should be an interesting off season.

Agreed. Though this is no different than the Isles series last yr. Ended up working out well until the ECF that year.

penguins for years now have been letting character guys walk away because they don't want to pay them. eventually that will come back to haunt you.

Staal was easily the biggest loss. But their hand was forced. He was the perfect 3C balance they now lack.

I agree.

in all seriousness, if we could go back to that offseason, i'd probably keep staal and trade malkin and use malkin's return to rebuild the bottom 6 with youth.

staal seemed content on going to Carolina which was too bad, but I always thought that that was one move that the penguins would hate the most. I know it killed shero to do it.

will be interesting to see if guys like letang are still here next season.
