Colorado has a lot going for them, they're young, up and coming and could be contenders for a while given their core... All selling points that add value. You can also add that Denver is a pretty nice place to live compared to a few cities around the league.

Let's also remember that Duchene signed for $6M to 2019 and there is NO (frank)ING WAY that O'Reilly = Duchene. Secondly, Landeskog is signed for $5.57M to 2021, how on earth can O'Reilly demand more than that?

With term you could shave off some dough per year. If somebody offered you $6.5M for one year or $5.5/5.75M x 8 years ($44-46M IN THE BANK!), which would you take? $6.5 WITH term simply is not happening.

If O'Reilly wants to remain with the Avs then he'll need to play ball and fit in with their plans. I also think that Stastny will need to take a bit of a pay cut if he wants to stay there as well.

the Hope is that the Avs can get both of them signed for a combined cap hit under 13m a season. Wishful thinking but would be amazing

Colin you said "plenty of players could be out the door". Yet your blog said you think maybe only Reimer will be gone as you only see one maybe two of the players you mentioned going? Which is it?

Also seeing big pivots are hard to find, why the heck did we give Colbourn away for basically nothing? Calgary seems very pleased with him.

Dont know why there is hate toward gleason when hes our only stay home defender... and hes not slow as some of you are saying.... the tail end of the season the team "sucked" as a whole. Was not just him. But yeah obviously LA has better defense, but majority are getting up there in age like regehr mitchell and greene

Big strong pivots not big and skinny and wimpy and we had no room for him.

No reason to think that won't happen if those two are signing 5yr + deals.

Thats my thought. combine Duchene and Landy existing contracts, thats 24m comitted long term to 4 out of your Top 6. Not a bad average.

Those are the players who I felt would be the most discussed...

I feel that there will be a few whose names will persist with respect to potential trade discussions over the summer. These such names are that of Nazem Kadri, David Clarkson, Jake Gardiner, and James Reimer.

This doesnt even take into account guys like Raymond, Bolland, Franson etc who may not even be re-signed.

He's been bouncing back and forth between top 6 and bottom 6...still has a way to go to prove himself even with Calgary.

Yeah LA is looking really poopty, Richards and Brown
- DougGilmour_93

And Brown's 47m deal starts NEXT year, while Richards still has 6 years at 5.75m left. Let LA deal with those albatross'...we have our own.
