I don't agree with that logic. But if the choice is Gardiner or Carlyle, and they choose Carlyle, then this team is truly lost.
- djamon

Carlyle did exactly the same this year as last year. Got us through 48 games. Blaming the coach doesn't solve everything, but he is so so poor at developing youth. Keeping him means status in the league will for some reason give guys like Mcclement 20 mins a night over positive prospect development with guys like Holland that I thought was solid overall when moved from the 4th line.

it might not be all of the coaches fault, and I fully believe the players need a shake up. But regardless of how big his part of the collapse is, he still holds blame.

are we talking about the same franson and reimer?
- Flyfreaky

Yes, 35-40 point defensemen have value...even if they're weak in their own zone. Hell, you guys are paying Streit how much again?

And Reimer is good enough to be a starter in this league...there are teams who he would be an upgrade for.

That's how I feel. The players quit...there's no other way to put it. But the question should also be WHY did they quit.

Personally, I feel Carlyle should be fired for how he screwed up Reimer. But his pathetic "system" is plenty of reason as well.

Maybe not...but I think it's crazy to just write these guys off as having no value. Most fans think Reimer was the only reason we made the playoffs last year. Now he's useless? Don't think so.

He would be an upgrade for Calgary, Minny, NYI, Vancouver, Buffalo, Winnipeg and Carolina.

Disagree. They both have a fair amount of value. At least 2nd rounds picks for each.

I'll believe that when I see it

Now you're just being silly. Minny was so confident in their goaltending they brought in an Oiler castoff. That's called desperation my friend.

I see him going to Van to duke it out with Markstrom. Lack played his way out pretty fast and they need a legit back up plan if Markstrom is around.

both teams can help eachother, I'm sure there will be alot of dialog overt the summer. I'm sure the Peg will be looking to get max retutn on Buff or Kane which will price us out. I'd be down for either though.

I would love to know the organizations thoughts on Holland, if they are content work moving him into a top 3 C spot it could make for interesting moves. I would prefer to move for Kesler though. Can flip him and bozie on 1 and 2. I prefer Kadri on line 3 roasting other teams third pairings, worked well with Kule.

Scrivens/Fasth is much better than what they started with this year

Oh? Was Bryz NOT an Oiler castoff? I did the research, believe me.

Minny - Harding, Kuemper
NYI - Nabakov, Poulin
Carolina - Kudobin, Ward
Calgary - Ramo, MacDonald
Van - Lack, Markstrom
Winnipeg - Pavolec, Montoya
Buffalo - Enroth, Lieuwen

Reimer, IMO, is better than every goalie on that list.

BTW, I could have thrown the Oilers onto that list too, but I think Scrivens might actually be the real thing...so it's a wash.

ROR is a superb model for what Patrick Roy wants in a player. There is no way ROR is leaving Colorado. No doubt the Avs will have cap problems in the future. But, ROR is a lifer as long as Roy remains behind the bench.

I disagree. Riemer is not better than every goalie on that list. Especially the ones in Minny

And Bryz is more of a Flyers castoff... Dubnyk is the Oilers castoff.

I say he's better than Harding largely due to Harding's health issues. If healthy he's great, but I sadly think those days are just about over.

If Franson had any value as a dman, then you wouldn't want to see him traded given the state of your defence.

What about the other guy who's starting for them tomorrow?

Lights out this year
