Ebs & #3 for coburn / simmonds/ 1st 14 & 2nd 15 is the only feasible way to make that trade plausible for the oil. Neither of the two flyers are corner stone players, effective NHL'ers... Absolutely. Any mention of eberle in a trade for letang is a terrible move. Package yak, prospect, and a pick only way I pull the trigger. Eberle, rnh, hall only attract my attention if doughty or weber is in the mix

With what is supposedly being offered (3rd overall and a top guy) I think that eliminates some of those guy as that would be a great overpayment by the Oilers.

Makes it look to me like it is either Subban or Letang (or maybe a Ranger).

I lean towards Subban. There always seems to be friction with him in Montreal and he is about the get a huge contract. Montreal also has some good young defensemen coming up in their system (Beauleiu, Tinordi, Thrower) who may be ready to step in. And at third a player like Draisaitl gives them some needed top 6 size.

the only plausible moves on that list are Subban, Letang (mostly due to the contract) and Coburn, and Subban is the only one of those worth trading for
