Dude, seriously, after what Read did?? Your usually a smarter poster than this. - mdw7413
It's true though? It's a rule in the book and Hagelin clearly didn't have it tied down. That's all... |

Its also a rule that intentional shots to the head are illegal as well. |

I betcha you could jump 75% of the finesse players in the NHL just start beating the hell out of them and you'll find that they don't have their jerseys tied down too.
If the league was so absolutely 100% literal in following that rule seems like a good way to get a good hockey player thrown out anytime you want |

And...? Was there anything even REMOTELY mentioning that play or the players involved? No, there wasn't. I'm talking about the jersey not being tied down, that's it... |

So far in the playoffs, Lundqvist has a .930 save percentage and a 1.68 GAA
Ya, he is a crappy playoff performer |

I'm not disagreeing, but to pick that out, and say we are fortunate, come on. Voracek started the whole thing by jumping Hagelin, and Read got away with a deliberate head shot. You guys got the breaks in reffing last night, like we did in game 2. |

And...I'm talking about the non-call on Read, the point being neither was enforced |

If there was ever a time when the hockey gods decided to intervene, it was last night after Carcillo got mugged and then given a bullpoop call for one of the best defensive plays I've seen in recent memory.
Now crush the flyers, then the Pens, then the Bruins on your way to the finals.
this team is way better than it has been in recent years, with Nash/Stepan and the Richards/St Louis combos clicking. |

Not to start a war in here, but you guys were fortunate that it wasnt a fight that was called between Voracek and Hagelin... Hagelin dropped the gloves and started to go with Voracek after the flurry or whatever it was Voracek was doing.
The fight, albeit a lopsided one, ended when Hagelins jersey was pulled up over his head. By rule, if a player does not have his jersey tied down during a fight, he is to be ejected from the game. - jak521
Vorachek instigated that whole thing He also threw a vicious crosscheck at hagelins head that luckily missed. He was such a wussy for going after Hagelin anyway. |

Carcillo is not going to get you ANY calls from the refs, that's a guarantee. So that head-shot will go unpunished, guaranteed. I'm merely saying Hagelin should have been ejected... I didn't say we'd win as a result, or the game would have been profoundly different, just that he got lucky there. |

I agree the Rangers have been better but these two aren't a combo as of right now. Maybe the coach re-unites them especially now that MSL is going! |

if the play was called as it "should have been called"
Voracek gets a major for fighting
Carcillo gets no penalty, Hagelin gets no penalty, just a game misconduct
we have a 5 minute powerplay |

He'll get no credit for last night though, the morons from both our fan base and other will point to blocked shots and they didn't need him anyway, it's a joke |

No... Watch the video again, Hagelin drops his gloves and engages in the scrum and fight. This talk of Voracek jumping him or coming out of nowhere to fight him is ridiculous lol, what game were you guys watching? They BOTH should have been given fighting majors and Hagelin should have been kicked out. |

Ok, fair enough, but i was responding to jak, when he put the word fortunate in there, like it would have made a difference in the outcome. Like I said, I thought you guys got at least 3 big breaks last night with the reffing, and we got a couple in game 2. Just odd that its whats being talked about, when you guys got more fortunate calls last night. Also I don't think Hags had a point , so it probably wouldn't have changed anything. |

Haglin dropped his gloves first. Regardless of the fact that Voracek was mugging him already there is never going to be a case where the player who drops his gloves first doesn't go to the box. An extra 2 on Jake with matching 5 min for fighting would have been the correct call.
Not 100% sure of the jersey rule. It carries a game misconduct without any penalty? Got sauce on the rule? |

He played well, no doubt, but the D blocking the shots gets more credit. Last night was (frank)ing ridiculous... Basically 5 guys out there trying to play goalie. |

I am proud of how my affinity for the St Louis trade never lessened, despite it all.
He was brought in here for the playoffs; this season, next season and likely beyond. |
