Nobody knows or gives a single (frank) where the refs comes from, except when it's a Francophone, because they're easy to tell apart with their last name.

If it would have been Dave Jackson or Eric Furlatt reffing the game that night, there would have been no controversy. The call would still have been labeled as a questionable one, but nobody would have doubted the integrity of the refs. It's as stupid as that.

Ya I watched some. What I did see, I didn't think Bob was any better than Fleury but man Pitts team D is sloppy. Cbus has some wheels and like to hit. Pitt doesn't like to get hit. The retaliatory stuff is stupid too. I think someone was high when they thought Sutter would replace Staal.

What Maclean said was epic in it's stupidity. However all he was trying to say was that the league should have avoided the appearance of impropriety. He never said the ref was biased or even was more likely to be because he was French.
