they sure don't. and of course they need the rest to chip in. otherwise, they're finished.
- hammarby31

I think they'll be fine. I think game 4 with Mason in net is when this series starts to turn in a favor a bit.

Berube is getting out coached pretty badly this series. I refuse to believe that the Rangers are more talented. They have a couple defenders and a goaltender that is better than what we have. Thats it. Also doesnt help when its Emery vs. Lundqvist...... Thats the difference between winning and losing. These games arent shootouts. Its tight checking and defensive. Good goaltending is a must.

when you add a guy like MSL, who doesn't seem to be doing much except being in the right place at the right time and torching them, after going 982 games without a point, it can make all the difference in a series. callahan did absolutely nothing in the TB series and they're golfing today.

it's a combination of things. i'm certainly puzzled by the ice distribution last night. emery wasn't great and was a factor in the loss, and they're not making life difficult for csp - they rarely do - and it's something i do not understand. that's what guys like simmonds and hartnell are for, but they are not playing that way.

I'm disappointed with B Schenn, but unsure about dealing him. If he gets dealt, he will immediately become the player we wanted. That alone makes me want to hold onto him for a bit longer.
- wilsonecho91

He frustrates me, too, but to me, you'd better get a LW in here who complements him and Simmonds before you move him -- it's a dangerous game, flipping 20-goal scorers at his age

first hurdle is for mason to win a playoff game in the NHL, which he has never accomplished
- watsonnostaw

He was a rookie on the CBJ against a high powered Red Wings team. I'll give that a pass. He's still better than what I saw from Emery last night.... all season in fact.

no, you are just mistaken about the injury history of your beloved Steve Downie
- watsonnostaw

I don't love Steve Downie, I'm just stating a fact: that for a time, when they needed a spark, his line with Couturier and Read gave them that spark. Thats it, period.

I'm not hoping he gets re-signed
I'm not proposing he gets elected to the hall of fame
I'm not hoping he runs for President

Here's something you can try. How bout you actually read what I actually say before you spout off??

This.

Maybe they already have that guy in Akeson or Laughton. Maybe they don't.

Schenn and Simmer do look terrific together at times.

Spilled milk or whatever, but Gagne would have looked good with those two.

mason should calm everyone down. i have faith in him. a lot of faith. and that's hard for me to say given that i hate full right goalies. although i don't hate him. in fact, i like him quite a bit.

If they need to include him to the get the right player, I'm okay with that. But I want that player to be relatively young, and in his prime. Do not trade youth for older players in their mid 30's.

I dont think Gagne has ever been given a legitimate chance to prove he is still a difference maker since his injury. Been placed on strabge teams and 3rd line roles so they would not effect the other lines chemistry. Holmgren (frank)ed up not signing him. We could use a player like Gagne with his speed and finishing touch in this series.

The switch in catching hands is going to totally confuse the Rangers!

Well I don't think he would have been crucial, but a guy like that would be cool on the 2nd line.

Im hot and sweaty toward Vrbata in the off-season if possible.

I'm excited to get him back. A big save in a key moment of a game can change everything. Look at "The King"

Those players have all been a much bigger factor in the series then the Flyers top players have been to this point. I think the Rangers have played pretty much as well as they can play, backed up by Lundqvist. I don't think the Flyers have played at the highest level that they can, as players. Hard for me to blame the Coach there. Although there are some things I don't agree with, that he's done.

Its more than just that. Like you said.... The team will play more confident and open to taking chances up ice, also he can get post to post when needed. He can actually steal a game. Which every team needs at some point. Its a team wide effect.

So you're saying that the Rangers are playing at their absolute best, but the Flyers have yet another level they could reach? I can agree with that.
