It is because Morris is a better player, of course it has to with skill man. I'm not suggesting anything other than that. However, I do think when you can bring in better defenders, it would be better to have them playing the sides they play best.

I'm just busting your chops. I haven't seen enough of DM to really get into this debate. I'd like to keep Gunner tho.

He's suggesting moving gunner and signing morris (he's making 2.75now, so even if we get him at that rate we are no better off).

Anytime you can upgrade a position for the same price, you do it.

That was 15 years ago. Derek morris @ 36yrs old isn't better than Gunner right now, the facts speak for themselves.

Gunner is the better player right now.

I'd prefer to keep Gunnar over Gleason, but I just don't see Gleason going anywhere.

Currently, Derek Morris brings more to a team than Carl Gunnarsson....even at 35 years old.

Morris was a healthy scratch with the coyotes a couple times towards the end of the season.

He's slowed down, had a hard time keeping up the pace of the play.

Phaneuf/Bogosian
Gardiner/Morris
Rielly/Larsson

....Would that not be better than what we currently have?

Not on either side here, but if the argument is about Morris Vs Gunnar, what do Larsson and Bogosian have to do with anything?

The worst will be when Nonis goes out and pays 5.5 milly for Niskanen and then randy just keeps Phaneuf paired with Gunnarsson anyways, because he is bat poop (frank)ing crazy

I'm just showing how I'd like the lineup. If we were to trade for a top pairing Dman, and sign Morris....Gunnarsson is not needed, nor is Gleason....but we're stuck with him.

why does Morris have to replace Gunnarson?
if you could get him on a 2 year deal around 2.5 you can keep both

Because having both Gleason and Gunnarsson is too costly for what they bring to the table if we acquire a top pairing Dman. We have other areas of the roster we need to improve.

How is he better defensively?? Gunner plays against the top lines and is a + player. Morris is a - player. What makes him better defensively??
