We have the money for both Stewart and Downie (if Malone and Purcell go) and if Brown doesn't play there then where? Trade? - Artyukhin76
Put Brown in where you have Stewart and then don't sign Stewart.
We may have the money now, but just remember that this core is going to get some big money deals in a year or two. |

I think Kucherov becomes trade bait, and I think Drouin has to play top six if he's going to be with the Lightning. - Michael_Stuart
no way. the guy was lighting it the (frank) up in his first year pro and got prematurely thrown into the big league and is extremely raw. you can see how talented he is, put him back in syracuse or keep him. id say that deal would kick our ass in the end when he comes and plays against us. if im trading anyone its purcell/connolly. |

I kinda like Stewart over Downie, but I guess it works. Ashan for the fourth line? |

You're damn right Kucherov is talented. But at some point this team needs to turn its prospect stockpile into pieces that will turn it into a winner. There's an abundance of small, talented forwards in the system. You want to trade Connolly and Purcell, but what value do they have? You won't get a ton in return I don't think.
Kucherov has value. If you could create a package and turn him into a guy like Shattenkirk, I think you'd be silly not to make the deal. |

I'm actually not opposed to seeing what Paquette can do in a consistent fourth line role, actually. |

The Asham thingy or Stewart over Downie.
I like Paquette too, but you're worried about youth. |

That's something I'd be very comfortable with, though the fan in me still wants to see a Drouin-Stamkos-Connolly line.

I'd be ok with that too, but you told me most likely he'd be traded....
Connolly top line and Stewart or Downie on Filppula's line? |

Erlendsson says there's mutual interest in Callahan deal. It'll be interesting to see if they can get it done. He also said that he expects Cally to at least test the waters as a UFA; I do too. |

That's fine, I didn't realize Downie was a UFA and if he's on his meds then I would take Downie and Stamkos pairing. |

He's just has good size and grit like Downie, but is more mentally stable. |

He gave Purcell 4.5m - Artyukhin76
He gave teddy 2.3 million per year on a two year agreed deal. Then Stevie messed up and extended Purcell for 4.5 per year for 3 years. Why pay Johnson and palat right now when you don't need to there rfas ? They are coming off rookie years. Stevie needs to tender offer them and they get 1.5 or 1.7. My bet is palat gets 1.5 he was only making 574 k Johnson was like 600 k. Johnson gets 1.6 CBa term rules they don't even have 100 games in yet. Gudas only got 900 k plus and that was a agreed deal with yzerman. |

If that's the case Callahan won't be back because Stevie is not going to wait on him he will just go to plan b. Because if Stevie waits too long plan b c and d may be gone. |

Offer sheets are proven almost never to work! It did not even work with Shea weber. No team is giving up a 1st 2nd and 3rd for palat and Johnson after just 1 nhl season. |

Plus if it happened set I waits the full 7 days then matches the offer sheets and Callahan does not get signed. Then the free agents are gone and they don't get palat or Johnson. |
