NHL suspending Cooke for 7 games is a bit ridiculous. I fully agree that Cooke did that knee on purpose and it was ugly. But the NHL is telling everyone that they dont value head hits given that they just gave Seabrook 4 less games for something 10x worse than Cooke.

You fix this problem by making the suspensions more extreme across the board. Head hits = automatic 10 games. Multiple offenses = start doubling up the punishment.

Miller stops 13 in the first, no goals.

Have you listened to anything Murray has said ? He has already said he has no problem sending him down . That is what Nolan believes in as well. They want their players to realize success before the come up . If they could they would send him Rochester but CHL transfer rule will not allow that. I am not wishing or making this stuff up . It has been stated by our GM and coach on numerous occasions.I want Reinhart as well . Both his brothers were sent back to junior by their respective teams . They come from NHL stock . Their father is no rush for them to play in the NHL either.

Because coaches and GM's are always 100% truthful when speaking to the media.

In all seriousness, though, if someone, say Reinhart for example, comes in here and shows he belongs, he's going to stay here, at least I would hope so. Granted, I'm not talking simply "not looking out of place". If he's making plays, he's going to stay.

Problem is Old school owners have too much power to let that happen . By the way I do agree with you.

When I get some players worth being led, then I will worry about acquiring "leadership" and "talent".
- buffalofan19

C'mon man...

If guys like Myers, Hodgson, Ennis, Stuart & Conacher are "young" players, than guys like Foligno, Grigorenko, Pysyk, Risto, Zadorov & McCabe are babies!!

This group needs leadership in the worst way. They need to understand the rigors and sacrifices that come with being a "professional". Just look what a quality mentor like Tallinder did for Myers's game in his rookie yr.

Have you looked at our GM and coaches past history when dealing with young players? If he rocks I want to see him here. But I have no problem him being sent back down to fill out some more . I hate to see a repeat of Grigorenko experience. He never should have been here .

Do you listen to anything Murray says ? He has said he will fill the bottom six for now . Probably to shorter term contracts . I know all you old school fans want results now . But it just not fit the rebuild. If they trade for a forward it will be someone in their early twenties.

I agree. However, at no point did Grigorenko, look like a stud in the NHL so far. If the draft pick comes out and does a repeat of that, there's no question he'll go to juniors. If he comes out and looks like Nugent-Hopkins or Jordan Eberle did in their first games of their careers (they were very, very good), they're going to stay. They need to be great, though, not just good.

Sure. But if the guy (say a Sam Reinhart) can play up here, they're going to play him. Look at Girgensons & Pysyk for example.

Both of these guys could have spent the yr in the AHL to "develop", but stuck with the big club because they weren't in over their heads. (the only reason why Pysyk was sent down at the end was because the Brayden McNabb trade nearly derailed the Amerks playoff hopes).

Like Girgensons, Sam Reinhart has the versatility to step into this club as a role player... And grow from there.

Andersen has let in some weak ones. If they go out in the 1st round again, I could see them taking a serious run at Miller and I doubt Miller would say no.

I think he said he had no problem with it, not that he's going to do it right away (could be wrong though). If whoever we pick earns his 10 game trial with a strong pre-season, then they should keep him up for that. If he does well during that time as well then he should be up here.

He also laid out his blueprint for "tanking", which that might start to suspiciously look like before long.

How funny would it be the Stars winning the cup! I don't think it will happen, be pretty funny though.

I don't care what it looks like . Players don't tank on purpose , Coaches don't tank on purpose . We are not doing anything a bunch other other franchises have not done. And the whole they are very successful now.

Girgensons spent a year in the AHL . Reinhart coming from CHL cannot do that . You need to get the facts straight

Reinhart will go to the Panthers, IMO no way they pass him up.

I'd like to see Ehrhoff to Boston for a guy like Brad Marchant.

A gritty 25yr old goal scorer to replace Stafford in your top 6.

He's got a past with Nolan and you've got the cap space to lock him up for 5yrs.

They are loaded at center . I see them taking Bennett and playing him on the wing or Ekblad as Jovanowski is getting ready to retire.

Boston's not trading a vital part of their core while they are a contending team.
