Whether he had held the title on a sheet of paper or not is irrelevant. Manuel was Whaley's pick. Manuel's success or failure falls on him, not Nix or anybody else. - buffalofan19
Not the point, I just pointed out who was the GM. It's ok, your partner in crime is still ok in your book.....right! Carry on |

You said Whaley was GM, you were wrong. Nix was still the GM was my point!
It's ok to be wrong once in a while! - Irish 14
And before you twist my words any further I like Whaley, but if Manuel is a bust, he should be fired. I'm down with GM's that can't find QB's |

No, I said Whaley was the one that picked Manuel. Which he did.
Nix "stepped down" after the draft. It was Whaley's picks, everyone knows that. - sbroads24
But did you know that Pinocchio is a really bad motivational speaker? |

Fair enough sbroads and buff19.
I would like to see them draft Aaron Murray around 3/4 round?
If he is still around, think he has all the tools. |

Also I love how people get hung up on how Whaley is this "new bright NFL mind"
As if he had numerous other GM offers.......
It's almost too easy to dupe Bills fans |

And Darcy also had 15 years of fans harping on him, and for good reason too. |

And he (Darcy) should have!
Give Whaley some time, it's been 11 months! Before the harping starts. |

Matt Cooke 7 games. - SABRES 89
Sounds about right. The NHL has no problem suspending the Matt Cooke's of the world for lengthy periods of time. |

We can agree on this! Seabrook just getting 3 games was a complete joke! Cooke and others like him carry the reputation! NHL would rather send the message to these slugs, than stay consistent through the league. |

The Seabrook thing doesn't bother me too much for one reason: you can't clamor for the NHL to make rulings on the hit itself and not the result, and then at the same time, demand that Seabrook be suspended longer simply because Backes is going to be out for an extended period of time.
All that being said, I am going to say what I've been saying for years. If you really want to clean up the game, you need to have someone not connected to hockey in charge of the discipline. That way you have no biases, no connection to the "good old boys" networks. Things might be a little extreme to start off, and feathers will be ruffled, but the message will be sent. |

Not saying that!
Stay consistent with head shots, no matter what (doesn't matter how long the other player is out).

Exception, not the rule.
And Buffalo will not have a defense like Baltimore's that year. Nobody will. |

Manuel has yet to prove he's as good as Dilfer was. |
