Honestly. This city has a major inferiority complex.

We hate talented players that make big money, and love the blue collar talentless players because some of us can relate to them.

It's annoying to me.

no he does,

Its easy to win arguments when you dont use facts, and you use your own opinions to justify your thoughts.

- TaroTsujimoto

You picked a small time sample size. ITs common knowledge that you use a larger size to get a more accurate result.

John Scott was a PPG player at a point in time this season

Stamkos scores goals, St. Louis scores goals.

Callahan - blocks goals, hits, works on PK, sits in front of net on PP and gets killed.

2 different roles, 2 different players.

- Irish 14

Has anyone had the insight to point out that St. Louis is 38 years old yet? He garnered quite a bit in that trade for his age.

That's solely just your opinion. That's my point, you just don't understand the people and fans of this city!
- Irish 14

Unfortunately, I understand full well that most of the fans of this city fall in love with blue collar players and the championships they never bring.

...I just couldn't resist.

Yea I'd says so. But you could also make the argument that at 7 mil a year while the cap was 45 mil, he was well overpayed (at the time). But that's a different animal entirely.

Just like Mario Williams gets ton of flak cause he makes so much. But we have longed for a superstar for a decade

So why don't the playoffs count in your comparisons of the two?

Why does is only matter what they did from the deadline, until the season ended?

Why doesn't the fact that St. Louis having a point in 3 straight games while Callahan putting up a big goose egg not matter?

You use stats that are convenient to the point you want to make

- sbroads24

He's ignored my last 2 posts about him using stats without context and manipulating them to tell half the story

IF the only sample size you have from the trade is 20 games, unfortunately all you can use is 20 games. At the end of next season, it will be easier to get a more accurate gauge of the trade, but unfortunately none of us, yes, that includes some of the select few sabre hockeybuzzers who do know all, have the ability to see the stats for next year.

For the record... I like Ryan Callahan as a player. He's good.

I just hate the idea of him locked up until 35. Especially with how he plays

What did you guys do when Brad May scored the "May Day Goal"

Sit down Buffalo fans, just a blue collar player, no big deal!

Edit- you all might be to young?

I was at that game...but I must have fallen asleep when the Stanley Cup was awarded to the Buffalo Sabres that night because I don't remember that part at all.

He's a good player who I would LOVE if we drafted him.

However if I was a running a team, I wouldn't want him as one of my 4 or 5 best players
