Not disagreeing with the call on Simmonds at all. Without a doubt he crosschecked him in the back. And as someone who has been injured by exactly that play, I have no sympathy. At the same time, it's hard to say that there wasn't an elongated pause between the contact and him then falling forwards in a controlled way. This isn't like the Zuc/AMac play where neither player really committed a penalty, but they called both. Here both deserved penalties
- D_Finns

They should have given simmonds 4 minutes. 2 for the crosscheck and 2 for unsportsmanlike for after the whistle. Especially after giving Dorsett one for diving. The one on Zucc was a can opener by Amac. Classic stick between the legs and push from behind. No way was that a dive. or embellishment

no, probably not ever.

It definitely wasn't embellishment, but at the same time Zucc DID go down a bit easy in my opinion. I think the refs saw that and decided to give him the penalty.

It probably should have just been 2 minutes to AMac for interference.

Well which one is it? Wait don't tell me I already know

You guys can keep this crap to your thread, 1 semi legit all on Dorsett makes us divers huh? F'ing kidding be with this BS, stop taking needless penalties
- cranford93

calm down ... I didn't say you were all divers. I said it's not a bad tactic to use against the Flyers, who are not only the most penalized team, but might be the most stupid.

for the record, BOTH TEAMS were diving all over the place in game 2, and Dorsett wasn't the only one for you guys. Both teams saw that the refs were calling that ticky tack stuff, and started flopping all around.

his right leg is very close to the net and the interference just put him in an awkward way and he fell down, it's just a complete B.S. call

there's a bit of grey (or gray) between what is a legit penalty to what is 100% embellishment. Not everything is one or the other.

In my opinion, as I already said, it should have been 2 minutes on AMac. I don't think Zuc deserved a penalty, but he did go down a touch easy. Not a penalty to me as it wasn't full out embellishment, but it was evidently enough for the ref.

honestly being at the game, I haven't even watched the replays of these two incidents until today because I was just so bummed by the loss, I am just absolutely baffled at the Zucc embellishment call

I probably should have never watched it again

hmm, his right leg WAS close to the net ... but didn't appear to touch it or the post at all. Not sure what that has to do with anything.

obviously we have a difference of opinion ... and considering how many questionable 2-minute penalties are yet to be called in this series, I'll stop arguing this one and wait til the next one.

I am just pointing out that because you claim he "went down easy", so I am just saying that Zucc was close to the net and was probably aware of it and didn't want to fall into it or the post.

You can easily say it's silly to argue "questionable two minute penalties" but Flyers fans all around are calling the Rangers divers and this call is the main reason, and it's absolute fukkkking bullpoop

If they had this embellishing rule back in the day Bill Barber may have had a 500 penalty minute season one year

no doubt ... Barber could have had at least one diving call every shift.

Well, when it was 1-0 (or when the Rangers got home ice late in the season) there were plenty of Ranger fans saying it was all over. The idea that any one comment or the comments by a subset of any fanbase are the opinion of everyone in that fanbase is a foolish characterization in the extreme.
