Gotta be killing Captain Philly he hasn't been a factor.

It sure ain't helping. Rangers are doing a good job hemming him in.

Girardi & Mac just seem to have him stifled. Mac is clearly far from 100%but def still getting the job done defensively.

One of the reasons I was confident, heading into this series, was how Giroux hasn't been a factor against the Rangers over the last few seasons.

It's still early, and he very well can turn it around, but until he proves he can I am going to remain confident the Rangers can shut Giroux down.

As he goes, the Flyers go, because when he is playing well the Flyers are dangerous. The complete opposite effect when he plays poorly or is shut down.

I am also convinced Hank is in his head. He has passed up chances to shoot on the power and at even strength. If he was confident he would be burying his head and ripping the puck towards the net from all and any angles. He looks unsure and hesitant; two things your go to player can't be at this time of year.

I'm starting to think that something's ailing him (insert obvious joke here) - shoulder, something - but the Flyers' issue all year up and down the lineup has been trying for the perfect play or making that cutesie pass when a shot on goal would do just fine. I'm sure he's flustered this series, but I'm not sure that's ALL it is.

The Flyers captain sure looks healthy whenever he is crying to the officials or getting his shots snuffed out Rangers forwards and defensemen.

Had to throw in that little jab.

He is one of the few players that finished averaging at or over a point per game this season. There is no doubt Giroux is one of the best centers in the game. But there are some teams that have great players' numbers. The Rangers, over the last three seasons, have had a pretty good run of shutting him down.

Guroux can very well bounce back and have a great finish to the series. But, if you are a betting man, tat would be a long shot purely based on the recent history of unsuccessful games he has had against the Rangers.

Do you remember during 24/7 Giroux during the Winter classic asking Hank to let him have just 1?

Of course you did.

We'll see if he can break out as the series progresses, I guess, but it's gonna take some blown coverage on the Rangers' part to get it started.

I had forgotten about that. One of the funnier moments, and proof that there should be more mic'd players during the games.

That does add credence to the argument, though not much.

As long as sports are played by humans errors in judgment will be made. While the Rangers have done a great job shutting down a prolific point getter, such as Giroux, I wouldn't be stunned if he gets a goal or two in the next few games.

The Flyers need him to pick it up, if he doesn't, this series might end by Sunday.

That actually made me laugh; it shows that he is likely a pretty cool dude off the ice.

To be able to have a sense of humor, in such a big game, is actually pretty refreshing.

Having said that, I hope he continues to struggle in this series and all future Rangers-Flyers matchups.

After sleeping on it, I think Read should be suspended 1 game at least. He doesn't have a history, and isn't a dirty player, but the puck was no where near the hit, and he purposely veered his shoulder into Carcillo's head. If it was part of a hockey play, probably just a fine, this was purposely going out of the way to hit someone directly in the head.

There was also that clip from 24/7 where Brayden Schenn scored (against someone), went jumping into the glass, and Giroux was jokingly mocked him by asking him "what is this the World Juniors." That made me laugh.

Since the Rangers are 0 for their last 5000 trying to go up two in a series, can they please just break that streak and win on Friday? Is that too much to ask?

It just never happens. They always seem to bring it when their backs are up against the wall. They don't like to make things easy for themselves.

They are showing the replay of the game on NBCSports, and they totally cut out the Carcillo goal celebration.

Of all the bad calls last night, what about the matching minors for Hags & Voracek? Cross checks, slashes, 5/6 punches & all Voracek gets is 2 minutes was ABSURD!
