OMG. You will not believe the flowers we picked out. Just so beautiful. I'm colorblind and even I can see how beautiful it is.

The cake is going to be AMAZING. I just want roll around in it. Then eat it.

I often wonder if there is any correlation between size of wedding (amount spent and extravaganzaness) and length of marriage. If it's all about the wedding (for the bride, the groom, or either set of parents) is the relationship ever really at the center?
- bodiva88

i've wondered that myself. i think often these types of weddings are about the families and not the couple who can get lost amongst all the nonsense. the multi-billion dollar wedding industry doesn't help.

i was fortunate in that my wife didn't want the big wedding and have an obsession about from the time she was 4. she didn't really care. just wanted it to be special and really for us. the original plan was to go to israel but that little skirmish with lebanon a few months before put everyone on edge. other forces at play caused us to abandon that plan and just do it here. like i said, i think it was nice, but i know she wants a do-over. maybe in 2 years for our 10th we'll do something.

We had 75 people. Did it at a nice winery. Food was fantastic, music was good. We worked together on everything, and she had veto power. We took all advice into consideration, but we made our own decisions in the end. People still rave about how great it was.
- jmatchett383

that's awesome. i think 75 can still be very intimate. it's not that many people even though it kind of sounds like a lot.

we ended up making a lot of decisions in the end and keeping her mother out of it. unfortunately there was a lot of tension leading right up to it, and it dampened things a bit. i don't really care though...doesn't mean a thing to me now.

Everybody knows that if you don't get the satin slip covers, 12-foot-tall floral topiary centerpieces, at least five-a-side bridesmaids and groomsmen, that 4th tier on the wedding cake, and the best damned Air Supply cover band that money can buy, that you're more or less doomed to immediate divorce and a life of misery.

Several of my friends have gotten engaged and you can tell right away which ones will be divorced. I have friends who haven't lived with their significant others yet. In today's world, I don't see how it's possible to get married without testing things first.

I've been with my fiancé for 8 years and lived with her for 6. There isn't much more we need to learn about each other.

The "so when are you guys getting married?" questions finally got to you too, eh?

It was 10-years of living together (counting 4 in undergrad) before I was finally strong-armed into doing the deed.

Now it's just "so when are you guys having kids?".

Flyers penalty: 2 minutes for roughing.
Rangers penalty: 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct (diving)

We were 25 when we got engaged, so it wasn't that bad.
