Dont think tampa can match terms with other teams who needs defense. Signing niskanen for 5yrs/30 mill doesn't really fit with the group we have in Hedman/carle/gudas/sustr/kostka/barberio and brewer. Also koekkoek in the minors. We made our big Ufa signing in Carle, one that hasn't exactly paid out in diamonds. - Cloud
Carle? do tell? |

Gut tells me that Callahan won't be back. He's going to want a lot of money, and I'm not sure that he's shown enough to warrant it. You never know. I like a lot of what he brings, but not at $6MM+. If he could be signed for $5.5MM, I'd be all over it. But after he rejected six from NYR, I'm not sure why he'd accept less from TBL. - Michael_Stuart
Lower taxes. We have the opposite issue in Habsland. Sometimes works out to 1,000,000$/year on a contract vs. market value. |

I don't see what callahan's options are ? Rangers- no that bridge has closed. Buffalo ? yes if he wishes not to make the playoffs for the next 3 years his prime years! Islanders ? not unless charles wang sells that team. I think Tampa Bay is his best bet for a good contract maybe the redwings as a sleeper ? - todd1a
I doubt the islanders are an option especially at what hes demanding. Hes not worth it imo and most peoples opinion. Hes a good player dont get me wrong I've watched him quite a bit but hes not signing with us and I doubt he gets offered a contract to begin with no matter who the owner is come FA. I say he winds up signing with you guys seems to be a good fit for both parties. |

I'd doubt Callahan resigns. Paquette kind of plays a similar style, and he's been playing well for us in his short tenure with the lightning. He's center though, but hes good at it. There's way too many questions to be answered regarding the line-up for next season..I just hope we win tonight |

My gut feeling is Callahan stays in Tampa 5.75 million per year for 5 years. To me I think both parties want to get a deal done. |

As good as Bishop has been/is, I think it would be hard to expect him to make some of the ridiculous desperation saves that Lindback has lucked out on. - Michael_Stuart
Lindback is a far better goaltender than most people think. Montreal had so many chances in the first period of game 3 but Lindback kept them out. No luck involved there, as it could have easily been 4-0 after the first.
Can't blame a goaltender when he has to stop pucks and play defense also. |

this is a weird feeling for Habs. this is only the second time since beating the Kings in 1993 that Montreal is in a position to win a series in fewer than 6/7 games. and even that one other time, they were extended to 7 games. so i don't think you'll find any fans in Montreal counting their chickens just yet.
a Tampa win tonight + Game 5 IN Tampa is a frightening thought for most of us. |

Barberio took some pretty bad penalties last game. Is that how he normally plays? |

I said all along that this series would be over in 5 games in favor of the Habs. But i hope this will end tonight cause a win tonight means a 5th in Tampa and calls for a 6th in Mtl on sunday.
I want the guys to rest and be 100% to face the big bad Bruins.
So Habs in 4 and Bruins in 6 gives a week of rest to heal the small injuries. |

Ok... never noticed him prior to this series... bad penalties at bad times... that kills a team. We had a player like that in Ryan White. He has improved a lot in that regard though this year. |

I'm glad Montreal didn't end up with home ice disadvantage.. They play better on the road it seems this year. I guess maybe its easier to stay focused on the game plan? |

Lindback has played six good games, what about the previous 20 that he sucked tremendous amounts of ass in ? See no reason to bring him back. |
