You have heard the same rumors i have ,Cup 06 keeps saying the offers have been underwhelming .Not many teams are gonna have the cap and also be willing to take the risk on Spezza moving forward .We arent and we suck right now and he would probably help us make the playoffs next season ,without him its gonna be a grind as we are just too young

cup06.....as far as i can tell.....was right about the injury recovery time on karlsson, and beyond that, haven't heard any "inside info" from him that has come to pass.

he said the alfi deal was signed.....we all know how that worked out.

having a friend of a friend who's 2nd cousin works for the team doesn't mean you know what the organizagion is discussing with regards to trades.

Doubt Toronto would do it, at least hope not Not sure Spezza is what Leafs need anyway, would rather they make a play for Statsny if he hits UFA

I am not saying that the deal would happen but in any negotiation you have to start from an offer that's high and come down to something more in the middle...

Here's the thing, if we were considering trading Spezza to TO then the offer will have to be significant. I'd rather have another year of Spezza playing FOR the Sens and if his health is good and his production is similar to the last half of the season resign him to a 5-6 year extension at $7M than lose him for a weak pick and a 3rd liner (Clarkson) when we have plenty of guys in the minors that can fill the role Clarkson would fill and be on cheaper contracts.

I think top 10 in any draft should yield a capable NHLer. Unless you really try to throw it away.

i'm not saying it won't be a competent NHLer....but if ottawa is trading it's captain and top line center, want more than the chance for a competent NHLer

As you should. I don't think there is a deal to be made between the two teams for Spezza. He's a UFA in a year, I don't want my team overpaying for him when they have a shot at getting him for just money, and I'm sure you want your team to capitalize on one of it's best assets.
