I know i'm late on this.. but no Mason again tomorrow? What the hell is going on?

Maybe he has a fear of coming in and taking Emery out and playing worse than him and letting the team down. I get that. But not something i'd want my starter thinking.

Wasn't it a concussion? And any time there's an injury in the playoffs I feel like guys are rushed back. Every playoff game that goes by feels like 10 reg season games of time missed.

im not saying the pens are choir boys. for some reason, it only seems to really surface against you guys. they become spoiled little children. theres been a lot of stuff that theyve done matched up against the flyers that i find despicable, but i think that play was more result based than anything.

i wouldnt have been appalled should a flyer have wrecked him, but i dont think it was a marauding, bloodthirsty play either. i realize my opinion will be automatically discounted, but i really dont think in the big picture i have come on here, or anywhere, displaying quantities of bias.

i agree...i think it was battling heat of the moment kind of stuff and he didn't care if the result turned out how it did. it's very unfortunate for us, and mason in particular who worked so hard and played so well to have such a stupid injury take him out in game 81. it's infuriating for us as fans...because, well, it's always something, and often at the worst possible time. you have to understand there are years of compounded interest at work here.

i feel absolutely awful for mason. hes had a very up and down career, but i think hes improved drastically since the last time he was in the playoffs. hes worked very hard this season, and has been downright good more than not. he deserves his shot to backstop this team in the postseason and show how far hes come.

that being said, emery is performing marvelously

he's out. and i really have no clue at this point. i wish they'd just say he's out indefinitely and let us know when he's back. this day by day mystery bullpoop is getting (frank)ing annoying.

I think if it was up to Mason he'd be playing, but im sure the coaching staff and docs wanna be extra careful with this. No need to make this worse. Also doesn't hurt that Emery was great last game.

I would hope that if he was 100% they'd play him, but I wouldn't be surprised if Berube just said, im going with the hot hand.

i think mason's been terrific since day 1 as a flyer. it's clear he's worked hard to play at a consistent level and get the job done. there have been zero questions about him all season...no whispering or even loud chatter about his acquisition being yet another failed move in the net. just rock solid, no drama, no injuries. sure an off game here or there, but never anything more than that, and i can't recall a game where i thought they lost because of him. i can only hope emery hangs in there long enough to give mason a chance to get back in there this season.

if it really is a concussion, i'd rather he wait and not come back until he's fully healed and ready. not worth risking further career/health. i want him here for the long term.

Its bittersweet, happy for Ray Ray to have this moment to shine.

Pretty bummed for Mason. The guy hasn't had a season this solid since his rookie season, and he hasn't played in the postseason since that rookie season. Where he and co. got run out of the building in 4 games against the Red Wings. Im sure he'd love to remove those memories and this poop happens late in the season.

it's entirely possible. let's hope emery doesn't get shelled as well as mason getting healthy quicker anyway.

i said this earlier. it is bittersweet. it's perhaps a strange twist of fate for ray, who got a shot to come back to the nhl with the flyers and got derailed due to his injury, never getting a chance to finish the season or play during the run to the finals. if he did, who knows how that season really ends...they could have lost to the devils in the first round or not even made it at all. and now, he's back here, as a back up, and the door swings wide open for him at the exact perfect time. it's up to him now to write his own story.

mason will get his chance, whether it's this year or next.

yeah, nor have i. im trying to keep my anti-generic flyers fan ire to a slight minimum, but some of them dont have a god damn clue.

how about this though, im sure theyll have no problem piping up again should he give up a softie in his first period back as hes getting his bearings again.

most people wouldn't know a good goalie if he (or she) 2 pad stacked them right in the (frank)ing nuts.

and you're right on point 2. no question about that.

Or "writers", who laughed at the move then and still write garbage like this is the Flyers and go the easy and moronic route about goaltending issues and how it's a question mark, or saying it's some type of weakness.

someone earlier was trying to recall if it was a north-south type of play that resulted in the first line's forecheck that ended up with hartnell drawing that penalty in front of the net...

i just went back and watched...

the fourth line was going off for a change and rinaldo stayed on long enough to get it deep and keep it in play for the top line... lol
