tonight is going to give me some sort of episode
- stayinthefnnet

They're in trouble, aren't they? Tyutin being out helps you guys, but something's off about your crew.

Columbus gets a quick one, or two, and I could see tonight -- and the series -- getting sideways real quick. Because right now, Columbus looks like they kinda think they can compete, but they're not totally sure. They're playing hard, doing the things they do, but still just...playing.

You guys keep giving them a bone to chew on...well, as you said. Tonight's gonna be...interesting.

MAF has played well. Not elite, but well enough. Their defense isn't handling Columbus' forecheck well at all, and their big 2 aren't producing. Bob has outplayed him in general. I don't see him ready to fall apart, but I don't see him stealing a series either.

That's what I'm seeing, too -- I only saw Game 2, but I did read that some of the attention is staring to turn toward the captain of the franchise.

G's QoC against D is very high. I think he's taken 39 shifts and 29 of them have come against McD and Girardi.

I just (frank)ing hate our 4th line. That first goal came from a bad pass, but Coburn had nowhere to go with the puck. The entire 4th line was just standing at the blue line fully covered.

I found it amusing that the 4th line scored a goal without Vinny on the ice.

- PhillySportsGuy

Coburn had the option of skating to the red line and chipping it off the boards, going up ice on the same side, where Hall would've been in a puck race for the puck. That would've been a much safer play, and the better option.

And what goal was scored by the 4th line without Lecavalier on the ice?

If penguins do end up winning then the winner of flyers-rangers will be going to the ECF.

The one that Luke Schenn scored on the delayed penalty.

i dont know. it sounds odd, and i dont mean this as boastful in any way, but i dont think the rangers would steamroll the pens by any means. I think the way you need to play the rangers would actually force the team to focus and not play the whole run and gun thing that eventually becomes their undoing.

Would anyone consider Downie instead of Rinaldo on that fourth line?

I wont proclaim them dead in the water just yet. but they arent going to parade through this series. anyone who thought that severely underestimated columbus. they are pure heart and hustle, and with a good goalie. those teams can be tough. The pens have the talent, and should be able to pot a few each game, but a few glaring weaknesses have to be addressed somehow or the pens will be forced to dig themselves out.

I've been routing for Pitt to win this series because I think that Columbus will give us a lot more trouble than Pitt will, especially with Crosby and Malkin both not playing well.

I thought Raffl was centering that line atm. So it was Vinny, Raffl, Hall.

Strange.

It was really a hodge podge of players out there. It was a delayed penalty against the Rangers, so Giroux was also out there. It was Raffl, Hall, L. Schenn, Giroux, Lecavalier, and McDonald on the ice for that goal. So not sure what 4th line goal was scored without Lecavalier on the ice.

That's another choice I'm glad I don't have to make -- man, I don't even know what to do about that. Like PSG said earlier...when some matchups just don't favor you, you just have to hold your breath and hope the guys don't get scored on.

I'd like to add

James Neal will cheapshot himself and end his own career

Ovechkin will score 75 goals next year, but finish -90 and the Caps will miss the playoffs

Gary Bettman will retire and be replaced by Larry the Cable Guy

Shanahan will trade the entire Leafs roster and yet they will still miss the playoffs even though every Leafs fan insists that they are the favorite going in to win the cup.

Hey, this is fun!!

It's definitely interesting; as always, the Pens have more top-end talent, but they're being put to the test by how Columbus plays, which is very much gritty and with heart.

One thing about the Jackets is this: They're big, too, and mobile. They gave the Flyers fits this season, too.
