So, to extrapolate this logic to how fast Phaneuf is peddling in comparison to Phil and the rest of the team, we should have had Bobby Orr-like stat lines this year, right? Kessel is the least of the Leafs worries, especially if we're judging him on a 1 second clip of riding a stationary bike.

Far too subjective to track properly - it will never happen. Scoring chances is what needs to be properly defined and tracked, then used to help qualify the possession indicators (shot attempts), and we'll be on to something.

Shot attempts gives you a much larger pool of data, using Goals (to rare an event) or even scoring chances there is not enough esp when using 5v5 5v5 close etc.as the best indication

God I've been staring at this since it happened. If Kessel had more work ethic he could actually be a complete player. Strong legs (even with his lazy ass workouts) CAN play defense if he ever wanted to. We need someone to help him round out his game, just a little bit, so he's not a liability defensively.


BTW. Spezza (as much hate as he gets here) would actually be a decent idea in 2015. I see him at Chesswood arena ALL THE TIME in the summer here in Toronto. He'd come at a decent price here and maybe he can play well so I can laugh at all my family in ottawa. 2 captains left their town!
