The Emelin intention for one, and the one sided reffing. Ya the no goal was brutal but do you honestly think Briere deserved the cross check in the scrum? The no goal was pretty poopty I agree but the Stamkos thing is tough especially on the crowd, live. I wasn't there but was unsure what happened just watching it on TV. I had to wait for the replays to understand it, not an option until later for the crowd.
Stamkos and Prust locked up, a play that happens a lot and did happen a lot tonight and you suspect interference and intentional, suspendable kneeing to the head. I get that you're pissed and don't blame you but thats conspiracy territory and 'knee' jerk reaction writing.

The Stamkos thing is tough on the crowd? When is it ever okay to boo and chant at a player who is clearly dazed after being hit in the head?

I said the Emelin play looked an awful lot like the Neal play. That was my take. He had time to get out of the way, and it's not like he made an effort to. I didn't say that Emelin should be suspended. I don't suspect that he will be.

Herein lies the problem. They did that for the second half of the game and got shafted by the officials.

Mtl goals came in the 38th and 45th minutes of the game

Complete Bell Centre special from the officials tonight … From the many non-calls against the Habs (typical in Montreal), the phantom offsides on Stamkos when he was in alone, the phantom "goaltender interference" that negated the goal …

What a (frank)ing joke. One of the worst one-sided officiating snow jobs I've seen in a long, long time. The NHL ought to be ashamed at the joke of a product they presented to the fans tonight.

Tonight presents one hell of a case for the use of video review in the NHL ...

Thanks, Pie. I was just about to post the same reply, but then I realised it would've taken me 30 minutes to type all this...

A 1 goal game with a perfectly good goal disallowed is getting shafted by the refs in many people's books

Could have been an interference call on Prust just before Stamkos went to the ice and got kneed in the head, right? There are always missed calls, but that disallowed goal was ridiculous.
- wolfhounds

The non call on Stamkos cross checking Desharnais and right after that, that penalty on Brière was ridiculous.

Mtl has been better than Tampa so far in this series and it shows.

It was still 1-1 at that point.

PLay the (frank)ing game.. bad calls are part of the game. All teams (except the Bruins) have had to deal with bad calls.

I don't have a stake in this fight, but that disallowed goal goes beyond "bad refs".

Prust.

Come on, back checking Stamkos and Prust make contact. If this is the qualifier for interference, half the league is (frank)ed including Philly and especially the Rags and Bs.

you do realize you don't just add goals that help, nobody wants to take away the bogus PP that gave the lightning a goal

I could see that Stamkos x-check going either way, but that penalty on Briere was a joke, no doubt.

I called it a good goal when it happened...

My point is, it was still a 1-1 game.

Tampa was outplayed and lost.

Technically the call was correct, NHL wouldn't over turn the ruling on the ice even, though technically correct in its nature, perhaps shouldn't have been called through the refs judgement in a tight game.

Its not a great call, it just isn't an incorrect one according to the rules. They might look at rephrasing the rule this summer. Still is a poopty way to get a goal disallowed.

What did you expect? Apple blossoms and rose petals? I was suggesting they were ragging him for diving if they didn't see the knee. Which is possible considering it took a few minutes to get the replay up on TV. Playing the class card in this situation is you lashing out.

I'll disagree with your take on Emelin, in fact if he had of not lifted his leg to try and miss the prone Stamkos and just skated into him it would probably have been better for Stamkos.

I heard 3 ex-refs saying the call was the good one to make so enough with that.

Shut the (frank) up and try to win at least one game.

You really think Emelin did that on purpose? The fans who booed Stamkos are stupids, but I'm pretty sure Emelin is trying to avoid Stamkos right there.
