Just please do me a favour, whichever one of your teams (likely MTL) gets through.

If you face the Bruins, can somebody please get Lucic in the balls? It'll only cost $5k, and be totally worth it!!!

We could crowdsource it?

The refs (consistently) in the playoffs have let plenty of scrums go completely uncalled. Why was this one chosen to "make a point"? Briere made a blatant and stupid move to cross-check Paquette from behind while Paquette was engaged with another Habs player. If anything Briere singled himself out by being the "3rd man in" while 2 players were otherwise engaged with each other. I like that the refs are letting the scrums go, but what Briere did was not a scrum. It was a dirty play from behind. It was weak in the fact that Briere didn't send Paquette flying with the force of his x-check but in terms of the "hockey game" and for that matter playoff hockey with endless scrums in front of each net, what Briere did had zero to do with the game and was simply him making a "dirty" play.

Take for example the Barberio double-minor. I'm guessing there was blood to cause the 4 minutes but it wasn't the original cross-check that drew the call. That was to the shoulder and was not any more dirty than the multitude of other instances both teams have "cleared" players out of the front. The penalty was the cross-check after the Habs player was on the ground which (on the replay I saw) looked like to the head which would probably explain where the blood came from. Like the Briere penalty, I felt Barberio's was the right call. The refs have done a pretty good job in terms of calling and non-calling scrums. The dirty if not egregious stuff gets a call, but simple scrums and "playoff pleasantries" get a pass

I didn't see the crosscheck to the back of the head after Gionta was down on the ice. I saw a very hard hit to knock Gionta down, and Barberio fell on Gionta (who was in a tough position). I've watched this gif a number of times and am trying to see your view of it, but I can't.

To me it's an injury-based call. We see them all the time. Do I think it was a bad call? Yes. Am I shocked they made it? No. This sort of thing happens. It didn't wind up being consequential.

I had only watched 1 replay last night, but after the initial hit as barberio is on top of Gionta it sure looked like he came back down with his elbow to the back of his head. When I saw it last night I thought it was Barberio x-checking him but now seeing this I was obviously mistaken. The call was for the original hit and like you said an injury based call

Well, they are talking about whining...in here. You are assuming every Hab fan called 911 to have Chara arrested?
- hscesq

So a few Tampa fans can't question some blatantly bad officiating without being classified as whiners but Montreal fans (even if only a few) can ask for a player to go to jail and that's ok?

But since you want to keep this regarding THIS series, please explain the "classy" fans cheering when Stamkos was hurt. I'm sure many of those same classy fans who were asking for Chara to go to jail but I digress

That's laughable. Ryan O'Reilly can claim that. Pavel Datsyuk can claim that. A blundered (frank)wit who has run goalies and nutted two guys this month cannot...

The Tampa fans are actually....here. I mean, we are having back and forth conversations. I am happy to say I don't know anyone who called 9-1-1. Well, except Pecafan Fan. But I bet you're right that some that did, would also boo an injured player. There are all kinds in every fan base for sure.

It's not his first time. He did it to Emelin, though not as forcefully, then he called Emelin a chicken!!

I soured on him when he ran Miller. Poor guy gives up about 75lbs on Lucic, (frank) even Karlsson is more built than Miller
