How come no one had said Spezza has a NTC he holds all the cards. If they wana move him I do believe he would want to go down the road to Toronto but guess what leafs don't overpay in that situaton. You would be lucky to get the 8th overall pick and that's it. And if the leafs did get him I'd still want Statsny on the first line if we can get him since I'm sure he liked playing with kessel.
So to all those Ottawa fans saying you need to give Kadri plus you are so far off base of reality it's scary.

IF the Leafs were going to put Kadri in a package, I would think they should be targeting a different centre...I like Spezza, I mean he's been on my fantasy keeper team for years, but don't the injury concerns and 200 foot game issues ring any bells for Toronto? A guy like Bergeron is what they lack...Kesler seems like a nice fit, and could very well be available (assuming he would accept a deal to Toronto...has a NTC ya?)

It's all just speculation and Nonis and Shanny won't be dealing an up and coming potential superstar for Spezza.. I agree with what buddy said earlier about it being a draft pick and a questionable prospect..

Kesler said he dosnt want to go to Toronto. So that's not happening. Also Kesler would be way too expensive. Gillis wants too much for him and he is a good player. He will go to a team that is willing to overpay in prospects like Chicago or at Louis. Spezza on the other hand wants to go to the Leafs. Actually prefers to play here over Ottawa. Spezza would be more kadri and maybe a below average roster player. Kesler would be a 1st kadri and a prospect which is ridiculous. So the leafs will go with spezza if they chose to acquire a center because the leafs are still thinking about the future not going all in.

This is next year we are talking get real. Not year past. Statsny is a UFA and the young star will take his spot on the second line center next year so im sure he does not want to be a third line center or move to a wing. There is a reason he hasn't resigned yet and that's to test FA might not go to the leafs but the leafs would have alot of interest is all im saying.
Spezza isn't going to make or break this team to the playoffs why did Ottawa not make it? And you don't have a leg to stand on as a Oilers fan.

...Who are these "people" you speak of? There is NO talk about Spezza to Toronto, from ANY of the plugged in sports media guys here in Ottawa. Not even any hypothetical trade options that are being discussed in the papers and on the sports radio have Toronto in the discussion...
