50% of our roster could have career years and we'd still be in contention for a top pick.

we were a worse team at the end of the year then in the middle.

Our "rookies" (risto/zard/whoever) could EXPLODE next year and we'd still be in contention for a top pick.

short of a full on miracle (which isn't impossible) we are going to be very very bad next season. we could potentially be worse than we were this year. think of that. a whole year without vanek/moulson and miller/ott. we lost established talent and have added little.

IMO its more realistic we are worse next year then better.

You're the only one making guarantees about the Sabres future next year because your Uncle is somehow connected and you were told they would be signing Callahan.

I'd be extremely disappointed in Tim Murray as a GM if he makes any significant changes to this roster that doesnt put us as a serious cup contender next year (not happening), or a serious lottery winner next year (more than likely happening). Anything in between will be a failure.

Never said they were signing Callahan just that they were interested in signing him, they will better the team in no way will they damage the development of the players we have. They won't sign players just to sign players and where or when did I say we would be cup contenders?

what can you possibly add to this team to make them a contender next year. to make them anything but absolutely awful.

its not as if ennis/hodg/stafford had awful seasons. stafford maybe, but he's never going to be a 60-70 point player. 15 more points from stafford isn't going to suddenly turn us into the blackhawks.

stewart? is his production going to be that much different than the vanek/moulson combo we had throughout this past season.

and we have a whole season without miller. we were absolutely terrible at the end of the year, goalie injuries or not.

we could add callahan AND ovechkin and still compete for that top pick.

i'm waiting for someone to actually explain to me how we will be anything short of awful next season.
