For what?
- StLBravesFan

For the fact that Kieth Slashed like 5 separate players quite hard in the course of 3 minutes. Pretending to High Stick Players during face-offs which really pissed him off, and he pointed out that he did all of this with the fact that he has only supposedly fought ONCE in five years (not sure if that is true or not).

I really want to know what's going on with Toews - no offense, giveaways, lazy plays. Something isn't right.
- DarthKane

It is called rust. You don't just sit out for 3 weeks and jump in like you played yesterday.

He played great first game and was productive. That long OT game is extra tough on the guys just coming back. Takes extra time to recover fully.

Equally as funny isthinking that the fact that they were one of the most penalized in the regular season matters.

So let me get this straight, it matters that they were one of the least penalized teams in the regular season, but not that they are on the other end of that ranking in the postseason and are down 0-2? Sound logic my friend.

Personel decisions like Morin and Regin out and Zus and Versteeg or Bollig in are on Q. Maybe a scout or two and Scotty have a little bit of impact...a suggestion or two but Q makes the final decision. I'm disappointed he didn't keep the 3rd line together....they had chemistry, something that line failed to have all year....and why Kane and Toews are not on the top line with Bickel is beyond me....nevertheless...

It's not the game plan in my opinion....it's the effort, the guts. Very little net presence, turnovers, bad penalties.....

...and CC needs to be better with two minutes left....like I said before...two games in a row..can't happen even if the players in front of him fail to do their jobs.

Agreed............. I am sick and tired of reading how Crawford kept us in the game with great saves early....over and over again on this site. He is an NHL Goalie for God's sake making 6 Million Dollars a year. All NHL goalies make big saves game in and game out.......... it's the great one's that make the big saves when they are needed, and allowing these last 2 games to get away from us on weak shots is mainly on his shoulders. Another short sider to tie with .06 left and weak shot from just inside the point between his fricken legs to
lose it makes him weak in my book. Good thing he was great last year !!!!
Anybody that drops F bombs like he did at the parade of 1 million people is soft in the head in my book and weak mentally !!!

Dude, it shows a trend in play. The Hawks do not play an aggressive physical type of hockey. They try thug out against the Blues and it didn't work. Yes, they are the team with most penalty minutes in the playoffs so far, but a number of games haven't been played. Let's repeat as a trend the Hawks are not a team that seeks out hard hits. They are not a heavily penalized team. However, it seems like you have an ax to grind....perhaps since 2010.

No what I'm saying is a game misconduct and a major penalty are going to skew a stat like "most penalized team in the playoffs" and my other point...which you've failed to pick up on is....it's two games....at the end of the series...more than likely they won't be the "post season leader" in penalty minutes. It's not the hawks game.....

You think it could be his shoulder injury?
- paulr

I think so. And I think Reaves's hit on Toews re-aggravated it.

He's nowhere near 100% healthwise, but he was a 100% no-show in this game, as were many of the forwards.

And Stan Bo ?????? Thanks for killing our salary cap by over-paying this guy to the tune of 6 Million Big ones and therefore killing any attempt at acquiring a legitimate 2nd line center that this team needs desperately.

I understand its probably pretty shocking but some of us on here have the ability to be rather objective. That loss was disappointing yes, but has no relavence to this year so until you mentioned it, hadn't even thought about it.

As far as this trend, it has disappeared in the first 2 games. And they are down 2 games to none. That is exactly why it matters and why their regular season trend doesn't.

Him being 'right about the hit' doesn't change that he came in here to get a reaction, AKA being a troll.

And it really isn't necessary, most of the fans here are already drowning in their own anger.

Here is the thing about objectivity. If you were objective, you would not take a two game sample and extrapolate it when there is evidence to the contrary.

Whether its 2 games in or 10 games into the playoffs, their current 2-0 hole is reflective of the high penalty minutes in those 2 games. This isn't a discussion about stats. Its a discussion about the 'Hawks current pim rank being a factor in the 2-0 deficit.

Look, the hawks are down 2 games after taking a much higher number of penalties than they did in the regular season. How does that not matter to you? How can you not want to see them clean up their game, minimize the penalties, and win the series. Being down 2 games after only 2 games is reason to be concerned if you ask me.

Well...let's not get ahead of ourselves. We won two cups without a 2C and after this summers free agent goalie pool is done it will make CC's contract look like a steal. TT could be the future 2C....yet to be determined and he could be better at wing...who know. I trust StanBo with salary cap number having been through the purge after 2010.
