I agree, but it is in the state of Illinois not Missouri. We aren't taking credit for it.......

That's kind of like a factory not taking responsibility for the effects of its pollution downstream.

For what it costs at those places these days, you can eat a halfway decent meal at the local greasy spoon.

So very true. Best part is that when you dine locally your money stays locally.

Even in my travels, I always seek out the local businesses. Hard to go wrong when you go where the locals go.

Also proud to say it's been over 20 years since I've eaten a McDonald's Burger.

When you see a local place and the parking lot's full, you know you've hit pay dirt.

Every once in a blue moon I've am forced to eat there, or not eat at all. Usually I choose to go without, but on rare occasion I do go there, but never eat the burgers. Probably eat there once or twice a year tops. If I'm gonna blow a bunch of calories on a burger, it's going to be a good burger, not that poop made with pink slime.

I'm with there about eating where the locals go. Local brewpubs have some very good burgers. Might take the old ball and chain to the Jackalope for a Mushroom Swiss burger tonight to celebrate a Hawk victory tonight.

That's the tell, but you have to be prepared, and have a plan for the possibility that when you walk in, the music might stop and everyone might turn to look at you...

The only thing I really frequent fast food for these days is the breakfast sandwiches. I'm usually in a hurry in the mornings commuting to school.

Was going to say, two decades without going to McDonalds as a pilot would be pretty difficult, I'd warrant.

Been a while (not as long as you) since I had my last burger there. I'd wager you haven't missed much in the last 20 years

If it's good grass fed beef, on a good bun, with some good blue cheese....

No guilt.

Standard fare in many of the pubs dotted around the countryside here. Especially if you are under the age of 35...

My go to place at ORD is the Rick Bayless restaurant "Torta's". Good stuff, locally sourced, mostly organic, free range, grass fed, etc.

Best guacamole ever. Fully loaded, it has roasted chiles, bacon, sun dried tomatoes, pepitas, onions, cilantro
