the kings, blackhawks, penguins and capitals were awful for a solid decade...i'm not defending Snow but let's not rewrite history
- Dan Petriw

With the roster players that have been on this team for the last 3-4 years, if Isles had a respected GM & NHL experienced coach, isles could have attracted better FA's and this team would of been playoff caliber already and maybe consistently.

And the isles have been brutal for two decades now, arguably three decades......so what's your point? All of the teams you've mentioned above are dominant cup contending teams (maybe not the caps, but they're still in the post season year after year. Do you see the isles contending for the cup anytime soon, cause I do not!

Hempstead and Nassau County are getting what they deserve in the fall of 2015. Too f***ing bad- they had 25 years to do something about the situation, and they repeatedly did nothing but sabotage everything that every owner tried to do to get a building done. Everyone who is going to whine about having to go to Brooklyn needs to remember that.
- dcb1

Exactly my point. It was one owner after another who could not get anything done, all the way back to Pickett and he was the owner of a dynasty team and the economy was a lot better in the 80's. Say what you want about the Lighthouse by Charles was going to pay for it.

Backes had his head down but no question Seabrook was headhunting. He launched himself. He should expect a call from the league.

nino was offered in that deal as well...IMO the 15th pick and nino was more than enough... i would trade Strome..but for only about 5 defensman in the league
- Dan Petriw

I agree. The 15th and Nino was a more than fair offer. It would take a very special dman for me to trade Strome.

It's the playoffs. Yes the point of contact was the head but it was all shoulder. It's not like his elbow was out. That said, he'll prob get a game or two for that.

Seabrook laid a nasty hit on Backes as he was skating on the boards. It looked like Backes was out for a few seconds. When he got up he was wobbly. Seabrook got a 5 minute major.

Yeah his head was down but still dirty. Great job by the trainer because Backes went to fight Seabrook, but he couldn't even stand.

what i'm saying is those teams didn't turn it around over night...it was a 4 year process. it was a long time.. yes 20 years is long enough but i can't compare what happened in the mid ninteies to know..they have no bearing..

The playoffs don't excuse a player from launching himself at someone's head. I'm sure Backes has a concussion - it's only a question of how bad it is.

Snow just finished his 7th year painting his picture. We are still talking about a 5th overall pick. Are you suggesting that's normal? Because I'm stating that its failure and its being allowed to continue.

So what, you can target the head if you use the rock hard shoulder pad? What a ridiculous comment

15 years ago that kind of hit retired lindros and kariya early, that happens to Tavares and how do you feel? Don't be an ass.

Bottom line. Wang tried to play hardball with politicians and lost. It's that same dictatorship mentality that had smith and lafontaine walk away. This guy is a maniac...

Hempstead is 100% at fault for the Islanders moving to Brooklyn- 100% at fault. FIVE owners, TWENTY-FIVE years of needing a new building, Nassau did the bare minimum, and Hempstead did nothing. 100% the fault of a community that didn't want their hockey team anymore, and so now it is no longer their hockey team. If I owned the team, I'd have done the same thing. If you want to say Wang is a schmuck because of the hockey-related shenanigans that go on with this franchise, you'll get no argument from me, but the fact that they are moving to Brooklyn isn't his fault- it was basically his last available move to ensure that this team stayed in New York, which is a good thing, unless you're a certain blogger who shall remain brainless.

I agree- but I think this team would be a lot better with a defensive-oriented coach with a sensible game plan, like the Bruins and Devils have. That said, the coach is also his fault.

That's one of Snow's close friend that he wanted him to coach here, but I heard Wang didn't want to pay $$$

Isnt he coaching overseas? If so, I think he sign another contract but has an out clause to pursue a NHL job if offered
