Jeremy Jacobs is the most powerful owner in the NHL. The Bruins all know they can literally kill someone out there and get away with nary a game suspension.
As soon as Gary Bettman became head of the NHL, that was time for Jeremy Jacobs and the Bruins to shine. Watch any game the Bruins play and see how blatantly obvious the prejudice the officiating is towards Bruin interference and hack and chop.
Yet another reason for a "fan" to become much less of a fan of a league that hardly even represents hockey any more.
Kids hardly know any better, but anyone over 30 can barely watch this NHL product any more. Its embarassing for anyone who likes hockey.
For Lucic to not get suspended significantly for this infraction is a complete embarassment for the NHL. A beer league anyways with all the teams in the league , but its NOW a minor league beer league in terms of credibility.
I told everyone who cared to listen that Lucic would get nothing for this, and no one believed me. All you have to know is the inner workings of the NHL and its business affairs to know how crooked and fixed it really is. In my opinion. This opinion is for entertainment purposes only.
Understand now, that this league is barely more than just a professional wrestling league where many suspect most Cups are negotiated over the board room tables of the Leagues owners rather than contested on the ice. - organicsteroid
Comparing this product to one 30 years ago and saying this is worse is probably the silliest thing I've heard today. Today's game to wrestling......?
Millbarry jump into the stand with the rest of the bruins team and beat a guy with his own fricken shoe.
Bench clearing brawls.......yeah, every week in hockey.
No helmets for players, and even goalies.
No concussion rules, and hits were far more liberal.
Clearly you do not have a clue about what you are talking about. IMO |

my favorite quote from him today was..."I think I have only done that 3 times in 7 years" LOL really? you think that makes it ok, that you have only done it 3 times? what a joke. Bruins fans are soooo hypocritical its not even funny. Had that been Detroit player that did that, they would be flooding the Wings blog talking about how horrible of an act it was....you can barely hear a thing from them to this point. - Thorny
Said it a million times today as a bruins fan.
Yes it was dirty and a suspension for a game or two seems reasonable.
Anything else? |

After neither Lucic or Perry gets a suspension the NHL will have a hard time justifying one against Bickell or Seabrook today. This is what happens when you don't set the tone early.
On the other hand, this type of hockey if allowed is fun to watch as a fan. Watch L.A. try to pound the crap out of the Sharks next game if this is allowed. Flyers will do the same to Rangers, etc..

Where are the rest of the cry babies at? Like I said, if that was a wings player that did it...there would be 100 of you guys flooding their blog about how that doesnt belong in hockey and he should be suspended for the rest of the playoffs. |

Honestly, I would not care if he was suspended. Fined, yes.
BUT, I would hope that some on the bruins team would beat his ass.
I wish, seriously wish, that Iggy and Bergy and Krejic held him down in the locker room as Chara beat his ass into a pulp.
In fact, going out on a ledge here. I bet that the captains, Bergy, Chara, Iggy, Krejic all sat down with him and verbally lambasted him.
Just a guess, and I sincerely hope they talked to him. |

That hit that injured Backes, to me, is a clear rule violation, AS THEY HAVE RECENTLY WRITTEN THE RULES TO RID THE GAME OF.
I bet he will get two or three games, as a president has already been set in the league office. |

Perry should be fined, nothing more than a guy feeling pain from a hit, trying scare Benn from doing the same thing again. Lucic however should have at least got a game. That was unnecessary but at the same time I can see why it wasn't a suspension because while it would be painful it still nowhere near as dangerous as head hunting or throwing a guy head first into the boards. He has a cup on and that protects his junk. |

Go for it. I don't care. If it get the whining off this blog then GREAT.
Again, dirty play, bush league and if you want the league to set a president for spearing or slashing the nuts, suspend both Perry and Lucic. Agree. - JIwasinskiJr
Agree. They both need suspension. And someone should smack their children if they have any legitimate ones. |

Seeing two guys in the same day/night pull this heinous move underlines what I have said, since you are a witless Bruins fan, why bother defining how classless this act was by Lucic. The NHL is just a total joke now, I cannot believe anyone even watches this watered down garage league.
Its all bought and paid business. Ruled by agents, parasites and people who have never taken a faceoff. And guess what? The level of play and integrity of the game reflects that.
How these two guys aren't suspended for the rest of the playoffs is beyond anyone. They literally could have neutured these two guys. What happened to fighting? Anyone do that any more in this wuss and puss NHL?

Love how Lucic gets legitimately hit and goes after people, calls them names and retaliates over and over after the fact; then he does crap like this. Not even the first time he went for the cup-check either, barely over 1 month ago to Emlin... NHL will probably do nothing though, god forbid the mighty Bruins be held accountable for this crap. - nords21

Soccer actually exists in this country. That seems to be a better fit for you. There is always basketball too.
And if Capitalism isn't your thing, I don't know what to tell you. Cuba, N.K.? Do you think they have better and cleaner sports?
Love the Aristotle fallacy of attempting to change the actual argument by attempting to discredit the opposing opinion by making false assumptions, that I'm a bruins fan and therefore witless.
You could just stick to college hockey or pee wee. That's why so many people like college sports, because of the lack of agents, player salaries, for the love of the game.
So please slowly step off of you soap box and enjoy one of the above mentioned choices. Amazing that there are choices and that you can choice to watch something better.
And because you do not like reading, or missed what else I have said. Please note that I have said that suspending him for a game or two along with Perry seems perfectly fine with me. It would be a new situation, but cleaning this out of the game is something I support and I wouldn't mind that we starts with Lucic. Thanks. |

The heck are you talking about?
I'll tell you where there is capitalism... Various soccer leagues around the world where the refs are bought & sold by the clubs.
AND IF YOU DON'T LIKE DAT CAPITALISM, THEN YOU MAY AS WELL JOIN THE SPORTS-HATERS AT AL-QAEDA.
(Seriously, though, how does the argument that North Korea is a poopty place to live make the other guy's argument invalid?)
EDIT: Never mind, the other guy was being rude. Carry on |

Why? Seriously?
Are you that foolish? Do you really believe the crap you type?
There is a rule for hits to the head. Written because of Savard and Crosby getting blasted with "legal" hits.
Two or three years before, Bergeron, whom was a mess for almost two years, blasted.
That hit seemed obvious to me as a suspension. Now do I think it was an intent to injure, personally, no I don't. Hence, two or three games. |

I don't know. He REALLY PISSES ME OFF. BIG TIME.
I hate the s h it that he does and I think these nut taps are the worst of the litter. (Sorry miller)
He is way too inconsistent too.
Maybe he needs a big big talking to by Bergy, Chara, Neely, Peter, and Claude.
Maybe that would be a come to Jesus moment. I don't mind chippy, but he ligit tried to injure someone because he was getting out played. Bush league. |

he doesn't have the pure skill to be as consistent as the bergerons and krejcis. I think its something u have to happily swallow.
he a monster that creates space for the skilled guys, punishes defenders and is extremely difficult to deal with when hes playing well. and can score!!
6'4-230---mean as fuk and physical. and scored 60. u don't find this type of player. how many other guys in the league like that? backes, anyone else?..
he's next to impossible to match up against
he generally shows up in the playoffs too. when it counts. and had a pretty solid regular season year as well.
guys like him are extremely few and far between. most teams try and develop that guy over and over. and 95% of the time they end up with 3rd or 4th line plugs at best. or they sign a shadow of lucic for 6 mil nd end up regretting it.
ur extremely lucky to have him, regardless of the shenanigans he pulls from time to time. ull have 29 teams calling un on the phone the minute they hear lucic may be available |
