Shaw Saad Clutterbuck Downie Abdekeder Roussell Torres Goc (Cassels wil be one) .Just about every team has third liners that are tenacious and can't score. - VANTEL
Saad is not a third line player, he will be a first line player in time (and actually has spent some time there already). The same with Shaw, although I think he'll top out on the second line.
Clutterbuck - agreed
Rousell - has only played one and a half seasons - the jury's out
Downie - no comment
Abddelkader - has only started playing well the past year or so, when he was put together with Datysuk
Goc - no thanks
Edit: forgot Torres - Agreed but is a ticking time bomb for permanent suspension |

Torts said it best. Let go of 2011. Hansen was a beast back then, since then not so much. There are all kinds of players like Hansen throughout the league, and 99% of them don't have a NTC |

Yeah, but most of the guys you listed can actually score. Why they let Torres walk was beyond me. You man up and pay the guy. He brings it and has alot more skill than he gets credit for. |

Dont agree that Bieksa's expendable. He's the only Captain material on this team as far as I'm concerned... Whether he's wearing the C or not, I want his gritty leadership here to mentor the youth movement. Henrik's passive/silent/uninspiring take on leadership may work for him, but its the last example I want set for the next gen of Canucks tbh. I think the right side of our D is set for a while with Tanev/Bieksa/Corrado. Send Garrison & Edler packing. - DrChristianTroy
Send Garrison and Edler packing? You must believe in miracles. Better to keep them until next year and hope they get better. Trade from strength! Trade Bieksa, Hammer and Kesler now for good young pieces. They will not be better 3 years from now. |

I'd be curious to see who on the Canucks roster that other teams are actually interested in and what their perceived value is?
What is Garrison or Edler's value?
I don't think the defence is really the problem, more so the system, but it is where we have some depth but would love to see us land a true #1 dman.
Anyway, I would love to see us move two of the 4 big contracts on d, especially if it meant we were going to see some scoring coming back in the trade.
I would not be happy with a salary dump for these guys, they have worth and we have to get some picks or prospects back. I think with the whole team having a down season, some of the lack of production can/should hopefully be overlooked.
It is good to see Jensen making an impression. Wonder who is next to make the jump to the big club, anyone straight from junior?
I wonder if they kept Torts and tanked another year if the club would be better off for the future? With Horvat and his class being kept on the farm for the year (untouchable unless the deal brings back youth or youngish) and not much change unless guys start waiving their ntc's as lack lustre results pile up, we could get some more draft picks as we deal the ntc guys at the next tdl...
Don't think fans would be happy, but if it looks like the Canucks have bubble team written all over them, why not go for some picks and let the youth mature and the guys with ntc's live their "we are all Canucks". |

Skyler McKenzie 5'5 Calgary has their eye on him. Burkie mentioned he wanted to buy more Jerseys from Gap Kids |

If he was going to get fired... It would have been done by now. As much as I hate him... What does it hurt to give him a year to evolve more? |

For Edler , the Oilers would give up Gagner, a 2nd and mid level D prospect like Martin Gernat. Take it or leave it, the Oilers and their league worst Defense wouldn't offer more.

I can stomach him for another year. Like I said he may encourage some trades

I wouldn't do that trade but more importantly Edler would not waive to go to EDm . |

Man it's gonna be a long 5 months knowing that our NTC-filled has been core won't be moved, there's no roster spots available for our young guys & our beginning of a true rebuild won't start for 4 years - I-own_da-Northwest
Basically a four year wait unless someone can spin some magic. |

I know. But that's how he is likely valued by the Oilers and most everyone else in the league. You could probably get a better young player tho, or at least one you like more. |

I would not be surprised if Tanev is moved for a trade and Garrison bought out. |

Does anybody know if Edler has a full NTC or a modified NTC where he has to submit a list or something? |

What's the story with Tanev? He's still sorta young isn't he? Is he completely tapped as far as potential goes? |

He is a very good positionally smart player. He doesn't have a good shot and he is not a big hitter. he is just a very smart safe Dman . he reminds me of a young Hamhuis.
COrrado is very much like him only has a better passer ,more physical and better passer. And that makes Tanev tradable |
