No idea they haven't said anything about it.

Absolutely

Stralman would be a nice pickup, should cost less than Niskanen. I would try to convince Kimmo to come back, trade Grossmann and go into next year with:

Coburn-Timonen
AMac-Stralman
Streit-Schenn

The 3rd pair is slow and scares me a bit, but you could shield them from top lines.

I would like that.

Ive had one. I wouldn't wish them on anybody. They are just awful. The only time you feel comfortable is when you're alone in a dark room without noise.

Thankfully, mine lasted only a few days. The doctors wouldn't let me play sports for 2 months. They even recorded themselves while giving me directions. That gave me an idea of how serious this poop is. And this was 10 years ago.

- PhillySportsGuy

I was out of work for four months last year. I've had several concussions, including at least 4 significant ones. I'm very susceptible to them now-and the one that put me out of work wasn't even that bad.

The reason Corsi doesn't favor him is because of zone entries. The numbers say he's a very competent player in the offensive and defensive zone. He just allows players to enter the zone at a much higher rate than any other Flyers defenseman. If he improved in that area, his numbers would likely see a significant bump.
- PhillySportsGuy

There's a ton of things that contribute to a players Corsi rating. And it's not just about zone entries. IMO, zone entry stats are just another fatally flawed stat that is being misused. As if the defenseman on that side of the ice, was the only player responsible for why the opposition gained the zone successfully. The role of the rest of the players on the ice, simply can't be removed. And one player simply can't be isolated as the cause of the result.

what if Timo retires?
- FlyerGuy

Then I'd still go after Stralman and move Grossmann and start the season with
Coburn-Stralman
AMac-Schenn
Streit-Alt or Lauridsen

Rather than overpay for a FA dman or give up way to much in a trade, I'd use the leftover cap space to upgrade at forward

yeah, I had one also after getting hit over the head with a board during a mugging. Nearly 8 years ago for me.

took me at least 2 months before I felt capable of driving my car over a bumpy road. some scary poop, indeed.

Perhaps they use Gus until Ghost, Hagg or Alt are ready. If they never get ready, they can look to get someone at the TDL if needed. Could give Lauridson a chance too.

I'm mildly surprised Lauridsen hasn't gotten some more looks. I thought he played well when he got the chance.

LOL I almost forgot about Gus, though I think there is a real chance they don't even qualify him after this season, he just doesn't seem to be in their plans

Is there any reliable stat? Why do they even use stats if they're so insignificant?

I'm really lucky, over a decade of hockey and no concussions. Luckily I have a rock head!

I agree. Just that some of the advanced stats just as Corsi, and Zone entries don't favor him.
- MJL

Zone entries are sometimes a "team" thing, (like you previously mentioned), if a team doesn't send the puck in & forecheck enough, our defenseman will be caught flat footed at the line far too often.

Like what happened to us last night, we failed to get the puck in deep & never pressured them, hence guys like Nash, Hagelin, Zuccarello, etc, hit our blue line like a track meet.
