I've always liked Zuc, he always seemed to me as a very scrappy player even though he has good hands, lots of speed and is fairly small.

Part of the reason I named the two of them, you have Nash/Richards/MSL, but Zuc and Haglin will really give us fits.

True, I think looking at the game from my perspective, biggest issue for the Flyers was there were no quick outlet passes out of the D zone to break up our forecheck. They get that straightened out, whole dynamic of the game changes.

In my opinion

Well, we all know what opinions are like

I'm just sayin....

I would opine that I don't give a crap, but that would simply drive your point home in some bizarre way.

The gap was too wide between the forwards & defense, not enough support, we need to move more like a unit, stretch passes are great, but only when the opposition allows them. When NY dumps in & pounds the D, the forwards need to support, same when they clog the neutral zone.
They need to make adjustments, no matter who plays in net.

edit: even the slowest defenseman can succeed with the proper support.

Yeah, that's a great point too, a lot of battles lost in the Flyers D zone. I think I saw a stat from that game that the Flyers only had 2 faceoffs in our zone in the 1st & 2nd. That shocked me.

I thought it was a tie game at 1-1 until we had a bad penalty by akenson.....if that was downie or Ranaldo, this thread would be killing those guy.....why did we have a rookie in there.... For more offence....we don't need it...coach berube chose ......poorly.....different game without that penalty!!!!

Didn't know that, that is unreal, especially that the game remained tied 1-1.

Many bash our slow defense, (and, yes, we wont win many races), but solid puck support will make up for most of these deficiencies.
I thought AV may have "schooled" Berube as well, they seemed unprepared against the Rangers forecheck.

Or was it that he tried a slightly different system with Emery in net? Only reason I ask, is you guys looked totally different than most of the Flyers games I have watched recently with Mason in net.

Great point!
Dump ins do tend to go back out faster with Mason in net, and NY was very successful in exposing Emery's slow lateral movement.
I hate to say slow, but compared to Mason's post to post movement, (big difference)
