C. MacArthur - K. Turris - B. Ryan
M. Stone - M. Zibanejad - M. Grabner
M. Hoffman - C. Lazar - E. Condra
C. McLeod - Z. Smith - C. Neil
J. Pageau M. Callahan
M.Methot - E. Karlsson
A.Edler - C.Ceci
P.Wiercioch - C.Phillips
M.Borowiecki
C.Anderson
R.Lehner
Cap Payroll 50,190,444$
Not the least expensive but still below budget and I think a team that could still compete for a playoff spot depending on injuries.
I traded Spezza for whatever and flipped those assets or what it took to get Edler.
Traded Greening for McLeod.
Traded Cowen for Grabner.
Picked up Callahan from Detroit since they probably will stupidly put him on waivers next season.
Trades are not specific or straight up deals but it is what it is...just for fun. - dcz28
i like that team....but i think they're about 5 mil below the floor. |

ANY deal for ryan (and this is a dumb conversation, cuz it's not happening) is gonna be coutourier + + - sensarmy_11
If you sign and trade him. For one year before UFA status you aren't getting that kind of offer from anyone.
From the Flyers I'd say Laughton, 1st rounder and Hagg would be the ballpark offer. Abd i predict the Flyers to make a first round exit so that pick is in the late teen range. |
|
|
|
Well worse case scenario we put Phillips in, which I'm pretty sure they will anyways. They took a crack at Corvo. It's not out of the realm of possibility that EM would cocnvince BM to "take a crack" at another declining defenseman just to say he's "bringing in talent."
FYI - I live and die with air quotes. - SeNsFaN0903
oh, i don't disagree with the philosophy, just the player.
whitney is (frank)ING AWFUL
he makes corvo look like duncan keith, lol |

and i predict that murray will hang the phone up on your gm, and probably die of a heart attack from laughing so hard
the fact that he's going UFA will have ZERO impact on his value, cuz any team that trades for him has the entire off season, plus the full season to negotiate an extension. |

I thought the goal was to build a cheap and better roster
How is this better? - Trilla
*given that we already know they're trading Spezza (better get used to the idea, Trilla. It's gonna happen.), its the best & cheapest feasible roster I can conceive. |

i proposed a trade in the last thread:
spezza, methot, puempel, 2015 1st
for
eberle, #3 pick - sensarmy_11
What a nightmare idea. Sorry, Army - but you make that deal, you've weakened the weakest point on the team and barely broken even up front.
Spezza and Eberle are both defensively questionable offense producers. Is it worth trading a top 4 defenseman, a potential T6 wing prospect, and our first?
Especially since we'd probably tank even worse next year in a deeper draft? (frank) that, Eberle is so overrated. |

to each their own i guess.
i personally think methot is overrated because he plays with karlsson.....realistically he's a 2nd pairing guy.
i think eberle is underrated, i think if you put him on the right team, in the right system, he could be AWESOME........see Ales Hemsky
i think spezza and eberle are a wash in skill, but certainly not age, salary, and health |

I think the fact that edm fans think they're overpaying, and Sens fans think they're overpaying.....it's a pretty good indication the deal is pretty close. |

This whole situation is getting ugly real quick. There is nothing but pessimism and depression surrounding this team for all the wrong reasons. Every single person that blogs for the Sens (i.e Yost, SensChirp, Bonk's, Sensnation, silversevensens, 6th Sens, etc.) is seeing this situation as it truly is. A Deception.
It's so unfortunate that as of right now the team is doing nothing but souring it's relationships with some of the more entertaining up and coming stars just to save a buck. Man it sucks being a Sens fan right now. |

I feel bad for Murray. Guy works his ass off, drafting, developing, trading, and building a team with a lot of potential.......and he's handcuffed by his owner, and incapable of putting the team over the top |

Edmonton would make out like bandits there. A point per game #1 center in the top 10 in the league in faceoffs. Are first round pick and another former first round pick, plus a top 4 defencemen. I think we get robbed on that deal - sensfanpei
0% Bubba. For the Oil, this deal stinks.
A year from now, we have Methot, an extra pick , and an underwhelming prospect similar to several we already have on the wings.
Sorry a year from now I would much rather have Eberle and perhaps Draisaitl than Methot, Peumpal and another lottery pick.

I would assume any deal involving these type of assets would also come with a spezza extension......otherwise I don't think Edmonton does it |

- Sign Stephane Robidas @ $3M
- Trade Jared Cowen, Colin Greening and 3rd Round pick to Dal for Brandon Dillon's rights (after Dallas is beaten by Anaheim and thinks they need to get bigger to compete) and Erik Cole.
- Trade Jason Spezza and Shane Prince to Nashville for Gabriel Bourque, Matt Cullen + a 1st round pick.
- Sign Bisonette for our 13th forward @ $800K
- Trade Neil (to replace Torres after he gets a lifetime ban for sneezing on a ref), Weircioch and Nashville's 1st to SJ for Vlasic

Robidas would be perfect for this team. |

Just to reiterate, I'd ONLY want ottawa to make that deal if ekblad is still there.
Sens D in 3 years
Karlsson (26) - ekblad (21)
Ceci (23) - cowen (25)
Wiercioch (26) - "whoever"
That's pretty good |

Just putting it out there but if guys like Kulemin and Winnik will only get 2 million in UFA as has been suggested on these rosters the oilers will probably just chuck 2.75-3 million at each of them and take them for ourselves |

Kulemin, Winnik, Downie (3-4m), will get big pay raises from teams who miss out on Moulson, Ott, Bolland ( I assume most will be asking around 5m) Those great 3rd line guys who can play 2nd line minutes in a pinch will be a hot commodity. |

Can't believe someone is going to pay Bolland 5 mil. Sure hope it isn't the Leafs |
