Here's my armchair GM for the off season.
Kesler to Pitt. For Pouliout Sutter and 2015 first. 5 million out 2.9 million returned savings of 2.1 . Also the rights to Engelland
Tanev Hansen Markstrom and the 6 th over all to WPG for E Kane .
Sign Kassian 5 years 4 million per.
Buyout Garrison savings of 4.6 million
UFA Steve Downie at 2 years 2 million per
Resign Santorelli 2 years . 2 million per
Sedin Sedin Burrows
Kane Sutter Kassian
Booth Santorelli Jensen
Downie Richardson Mathias
Sestito Higgins
Hamhuis Bieksa
Edler COrrado
Pouliot Engelland
Stanton
Lack
? - VANTEL
Three good suggestions: Santorelli and Downie signing + buyout JG
The rest of your suggestions are weak
Edit* Kassian re-sign at 5x4 is overpayment on first two years but could be steal in latter years. Defenitly a risky contract. |

I think his agent is starting to see his value. |

Yeah I don't mind the Kes to Pitts rumours but taking a player like Sutter back just seems like a win-lose situation to me.
How good is Pouliot exactly? |

Pouliot was ranked behind Dumba and Rielly in 2012 draft. Supposedly a very good offensive D man . |

We need a young centerman coming back in a Kesler deal IMO. Forward group needs more help than the "D" group. |

You said it yourself , our young forwards won't be effective for two to three years
I am thinking short term in hopes that Horvat Cassels and Shink will be ready to step in 2015 |

How about Burrows, Kesler and Edler to Montreal for Galchenyuk, Tinordi and their first? |

I'm thinking an NHL ready center like Galchenyuk? |

I would do that but Kesler wants to play in the States and I don't know if Edler would waive to go to MTL |

They can all talk each other into it, Burrows goes home, Kesler is in the East with his buddy Burr and they bring Edler along to get him the hell away from Tortellini. |

We have Hank for four years Bo ready in 2 Cassels in 2 Mathias Richardson Gaunce . I think our future in center is fine.
We are going to suck for at least one more year before we get help from our kids.
Our real need is D and the wing |

I just can't see Kesler going to MTL and I don't see MTL selling the farm for aging players that struggled last year.
No team is going to give a great center for Kesler. They will give prospects but we have Bo and I think Cassels who will be ready around the same time.
I think the Comets are going to be a decent team next year. |

So you finally changed your mind and are on board with letting the Sedins transition themselves down the line up as Horvat and company develop? |

Not at all. I would trade them in a blink of an eye. The fact is the new Prez is a Sedin fan so chances of it happening slim to none and Slim just left.
I don't think we compete as a cup contender until they are gone. But this is Vancouver and you would get less hate mail if one would make a racial slurr rather than insult a Sedin |

Bobby Ryan is a contract Canucks should take a run at. Edler who is 5 mil had a very good Olympic with Karlsson and may consider waiving to play with him.
I am sure Ottawa would not do that deal straight up seeing he is a young budding star.
If you were able to trade Kesler for a prospect and a first then you could parlee that first pick acquired plus Edler for Ryan.
Take the savings of Edlers contract and the add 1.6 mil and extend Ryan. |

Now, of all the many things Canucks Fans have me perplexed by, Alex Edler takes the cake.
I have heard it all from "Young Budding Star", to "Franchise D-Man", to you name it......yet he is always the 1st guy the fans want moved. If he all those things, why not build around him on the back end? |
