Would the Leafs have had a great shot at the Cup if they had both Pronger and Neidermayer on their team? The answer is yes.
- ThePresident

Put Pronger & Neidermayer on these Leaf teams & they win the cup:

1993, 1994, 1999 & 2002.

Hey in the past I have margalized EVERY cup team Bowman ever coached. Do I have to go down that road again?
- GCHonda

It's like saying Dan Blysma is an outstanding coach....could it be that he has the best player on the planet on his team? Could it also be that he has another top 5 player on his team in Malkin as well.....nah just must be great coaching. Put Dan Blysma on the Preds and I bet he would have made the playoffs maybe once over the last 10 years.

I agree with the Reimer problem. I also believe that a big mistake is having Phaneuf as the captain. Leafs really need a take charge captain. Doesn't have to be a rah rah guy. But someone who will hold other players accountable. Lead by example.
- faceto27

yes, you see how things like that can help change the culture of the team and shouldn't be ignored until the end of the season

a good gm is constantly trying to improve the team throughout the season

i like the dionp captaincy change, but that would really create an interesting situation

They did....... brought in Gleason for JML. Obviously not enough though. Which brings me back to my original assertion that the Leaf defense is (frank)en horrible.
- faceto27

Gleason was a move in the right direction. Needed one or two more of him.

Can't wait to see Kadri on HNIC.
- BingoLady

As an analyst? Cause last time I checked I think the Leafs were eliminated from post season.

Kadri as an analyst?

Bowman had great players to coach, no doubt. He was a great coach and had his pick of the best jobs. That's why I think he was in those positions.

In the end, he got the results. Can't argue that.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri will appear on Hockey Night in Canada as a guest analyst during Saturday's Columbus-Pittsburgh playoff game.

Kadri (@43_Kadri on Twitter) will join Ron MacLean and the Studio 42 crew of P.J. Stock, Elliotte Friedman and Andi Petrillo for the Hockey Tonight pre-game show (CBC, CBCSports.ca, 6:30 p.m. ET) and the second intermission of the Blue Jackets-Penguins game to provide analysis and his own perspective on the night's action.

Doesn't CBC have enough shmucks on their telecast? With the exception of Ron, Don & the sexy Andy Petrillo.

Toronto has the richest franchise in the NHL. You can't use this to your advantage in a capped league but you can buy a coach or a GM. I'd offer Babcock the friggin world.

You or I could have coached that 70's Habs team to all those cups. Their talent was far superior to the rest of the league. I mean geeez if your losing.....hmmmmmmmm double shift GUY...............scores!!! LAFLEUR ties the game!!!!

Badger Bob coaches the Pens to their 1st cup than sadly dies. Scotty takes over, the team is set & has Lemieiux, Scotty doesn't have to do much. Scotty again is a lucky guy, right place at the right time as he was in Montreal.

Than a very talented Detroit team that was on the verge of breaking through towards a cup. Yzerman is at hs peak & it's only a matter of time b4 the Wings finally win one. AGAIN Scotty is in the right place at the time & lucky to be coaching this Wing team at this time. You could say Scotty is the luckiest coach in NHL history.

Nonis' handling of Reimer was Gillis-like.

Completely missed the timing on trading him.

NOOO. It first starts at the top. If I was the Shanny, get MSLE to open the vault & hire Kenny Holland as the GM. The guy is a genius.

Veteran players on that exspansion Blues team, besides, not as many teams at that time.

Scotty had the talent in Buffalo but he crapped the bed over there.

No anchovies. Only because I switched it up to try to make it a cheeseburger type. Anchovies get no love for some reason. I (frank)ing love them.
