I smell some major homer bias with that NYR/PHI poll. Almost nowhere on the web will you find any hockey expert predicting a Philly win in this series. Ray Emery and especially Steve Mason will be no match for the Rangers offense. Marty St. Louis has finally settled in and the offense is firing on all cylinders. Lundqvist is all world. Steve Mason has had 1 great(rookie year), and 1 good(this season) season in his career. He's made a whopping total of 4 playoff appearances (all losses). NYR in 6.

I feel very strongly that EK is a poor hockey thinker and analyst. Constantly rehashed cliche headlines without substance. Making statements about the Blackhawks defensive propensities while illustrating them against teams "like the blues..." How about comparing them to the Blues? A team who's forecheck has been frustrated against the Hawks all year, particularly the last three games. The Blues are better this year than they've been in over a decade, congratulations to the River Scum... I can't wait to see the "sorta disappointed Cardinals fans" hanging up a sweater that looks like a fruity track suit and taunting the Cubs because there is so little spirit in that fanbase and it basically serves as an off season rivalry proxy for baseball fans.

You really know how to keep it classy! Most hardcore hockey fans in stl could care less about the Cardinals. I know I don't!

If there are hockey fans, you should tell them tickets are on sale because they don't seem interested.... or maybe it's confidence... or maybe recent playoff history.

Shocking a bandwagon fanbase buying tickets against a team most experts think will run away with a series win.

Classless yes, but not entirely empty of intelligence. There is something to be said for being critical of a writer anecdotally comparing the effectiveness of playing styles based on personal observation from previous seasons. The original point was that these teams have played a lot this season, and that whole dump and chase and make the defenders play with their backs to you method wasn't actually all that effective.

Also confusing is the assertion that Chicago was being beaten in both Stanley Cup Finals, but for some reason both opponents simply stopped using that recipe for success. If something is working in the playoffs and players stop doing it, there are only two explanations: 1) Your coach is awful and should be fired or 2) the other team did something about it to make it less effective.

How are there still people who don't know how the playoff system works. The only way the Hawks and Blues could have met in the conference final is if one of them was a wildcard team that crossed over to the Pacific bracket. The amount of ignorance I have seen from countless professional hockey writers this season has been astounding.

Totally fair point. I know plenty of people from St. Louis who I consider to be very enjoyable and reasonable. But, with that said, it's a hockey message board and the standard for class is pretty low.

No, they're still called divisions within the Western and Eastern conferences. He means the Western Conference Final, which isn't possible.

Henrik>Mason/Emery, that's obviously the key to this series. I like Rangers in a drag out 7 games.

And there are no stupid pictures of people wearing White Sox or Cubs gear?

Wasnt it a white sox duo that jumped the First base coach of the Royals?

Wasnt it white sox fans taht tried to jump Laz Diaz?

Cardinal fans and blues fans are not the same fan base.

Two completely different groups of people.

Just like all Hawks fans are not Cubs or Sox fans.

Its not mathmaticly possible any other way.
