Well said.

Habs might face the Wings in round 2.

When you watch it, is that not exactly how it's described in the blog?

1) Completely agree about Bouillon, he's been solid all game.

2) I remember watching Bournival play when Shawinigan won the Memorial cup, this young man comes up big when the pressure is up and I thought he played an excellent game yesterday.

3) We really need to fix the powerplay.... even if we consider Price shouldn't have another bad game in this series, I have a hard time believing we'll keep scoring as many 5 on 5 goals in the next few games.

- Scabeh

Agreed, at least make it somewhat competitive

Both of them made mistakes. My point was that it wasn't just Weaver. It's really clear in the blog.

It wasn't one or the other. The blog doesn't suggest it was one or the other.

I'm just saying, I acknowledged that in the blog.

The first mistake is Weaver's. The next two are Gallagher's.

Instant reaction was it was all on Weaver. That's why I wrote about it.

Gally had no chance to catch Stamkos even if he made the decision to try.

Since Vanek joined the Habs, they're top 5 in the league on even strength goals

He wouldn't have caught him when all was said and done. If he had adjusted sooner, he may have been able to put a bit of pressure on him.

Mistake 1 and mistake 2 aren't mutually exclusive.

Not at all in this situation I don't think he expected Weaver to make that bad pinch, he was in a good position to cut the lateral pass and prenvent Killorn from taking the middle of the ice.

When Pierre Houde said after a play in OT that the refs had their whistles in their pockets, I was thinking that it was better that way.

Habs were horrible in their two PP attempts. Just horrible. I was almost wishing they still had Gomez to skate that puck in the offensive zone.

Even at full speed Gally would\ve not covered Stamkos.

not just pressure on Stamkos, pressure on Killorn to either shoot or pass sooner. whether it was fatigue or whatever, Gallagher did not play it well. but the ultimate point is that he should never have been put in that situation.

Really? Guess it explains why we managed to keep winning games without scoring on the powerplay.

Still, a few goals here and there on the powerplay could/will make the difference between a long playoffs and a short one.

This is the key for me.
No, he didn't expect that bad pinch.

But, given that he was in position in case it didn't work out, he should've expected it could've been a lost pinch. He didn't have that awareness on the play.

It's not all on him. It's not all on Weaver. Both of them made mistakes that cost them what could've been the back-breaker in this one.

I think Weaver was following the game plan. It was evident that the dmen were told to put that pressure. They all did it. All game long.

They got burned on that one.

yes but when you're leading by 1 with 7 mins to go, you de-activate your defencemen, especially when Stamkos is on the ice. stay aggressive in other areas but don't make 50-50 pinches.

I understand that.

But they were successful at it earlier in the game. He probably just was confident he'd pull it off again.

It's a game of mistake.

I'm not saying you're wrong but I honestly don't mind the team keeping the same gameplan/pressure that worked so well all game.

If Gallagher does what he's supposed to do on that play, we're not even talking about it.

i'm just glad it wasn't PK who did it. i think Therrien would loan him to Canada for the world championships.
