What's taking Bill so long to provide his opinion on the game?

He's a pro, he probably waits it out for a few before going at it to let the emotion of the game wear off etc...

Or suicide watch?

in all fairness, fleury actually was more good than bad last night, by a pretty wide margin. regardless of the score, the BJs smacked the poop out of the pens last night.

its one game for you guys though. i dont think many people legitimately thought you were going to sweep the first two up there. i genuinely feel bad for akeson though. im glad a lot of people on here realize that it was just a fluky thing and that he didnt single handedly cost the team the game. i thought he was actually pretty decent.

I thought he made all the right decisions tonight. Played very well and effectively.

Ignoring falling over while throwing a check, of course

thx

also, we're playing our backup goalie, even comparison much?

- BulliesPhan87

you didn't lose because of your back up. nothing he could have done on those two PP goals.

In my opinion

Couturier was one of the few Flyers that I could say played well.

I just want to recap.

1) your goalie gave up 3 goals in the third period. ours gave up 3 in the whole game.
2) the franchise that has never won a postseason game... still has never won a postseason game.
3) your captain didn't have one shot and took a slashing penalty after his team was losing like a little girl.

for whatever reason some of you decided to come over to our board after we won, so I just wanted to stop and say hi.

- SuperHenderson13

4) The Flyers took 15 shots all game
5) The scapegoat tonight looks like a clown and its not scott hartnell
6) Rangers own us but hey its the playoffs a new season and anything can happen we just have to skate
7) Luke Schenn tripled Vinny Lecavalier in ice time

yeah. it sucks it happened to him of all people, but it just does sometimes. i honestly think having him in there will do more for the team than somebody like downie or whatever. fringe ahler or not, the kid has a little offensive flash in his hands. against the rags, its very hard to get opportunities. id want as many guys in there as possible that might be able to get a shot or pass off.

Why all this Couts praise?

1. He lost Zuccarello on 1st goal.
2. He should have got a better sog on goal in that play from close when Read passed to him from behind the net (2nd period)
3. Got undressed by McDonagh when on the pk for the 3rd goal.

- PT21

In my opinion

He did lose Zuccarello on the first goal. Couturier doesn't make many mistakes defensively. I'm not going to beat him up. I thought he was one of the more competitive and better players on the ice for the Flyers tonight.

In my opinion.

I wasn't threatened with a ban. Those who were making personal remarks were.

The playoffs are a 7 game series. One game doesn't determine what a player is. And this tactic is not going to work.

When you have a banged up 38 year old top defenseman, and the game is pretty much over. Smart decision to cut his ice time and save him for the next game.

- MJL

you sure do have a lot of opinions.

Such as moving Giroux around to get him away from their shut down D......I would have also liked to see a bit more of your boy Vinny. When it's very obvious that your being outplayed I would like to see some creativity on line Combo's....Berube makes it far, far to easy to match lines against.

Of course thats IMO.

emery played about as well as mason probably would have. had emery let in a soft goal or two, you'd have a point.

In my opinion

If the Flyers move Giroux, the Rangers shut down pair will follow with the last change. This game had zero to do with line combos. The Flyers were simply outplayed. With the effort that Giroux gave, it wouldn't have mattered. I don't think Lecavalier earned more icetime. I think the ice time was indicative of who were the better players. With a few exceptions.

Maybe he could've been better. But the Flyers didn't lose the game because of Emery. And I seriously doubt that Mason could've won it.

I agree with that. But again, this is all tangential to the point of my original response to him, which was that comparing Fleury to Emery to justify Fleury isn't terribly compelling.
