IN MY OPINION

I'd give the Rangers the edge in play. But they haven't dominated.

- MJL

Enough with these opinions.

Goaltending was sketch all around last night. Our old buddy Bob had quite a stinker. Everything went through him like a colander.

In the two East games I watched, all four goalies allowed some weak goals. Some huge saves, but quite a few goals that had me shaking my head

Nice to see you out and about for the playoffs, Bill.

Thanks T-Man. I'll wear my Yotes badge of shame the rest of the way, but my heart is still with the O&B.

IN MY OPINION

It was a penalty, but the problem was there were a few plays where the Rangers should of been penalized. Just call it consistently.

- MJL

That's what I am getting at. IMO. They let the battle in the crease with jake go.

Rangers had edge in play, but not by a huge margin. Shots are 14-6, but shot attempts are 20-14 and the chances are about the same.
- Jsaquella

I thought the Rags were held to the perimeter at a very comfortable clip. Pretty much the only breath holding happened in the beginning of the game where Ray had to make that pretty nice save, when the puck deflected off Schenn's dropped stick in the crease, and during the goal they scored.

That's pretty much fine. Can't realistically expect much more than that can you?

I would like them to keep it simple. The dump and chase method is much better.

Frankly, they don't have the possession players to constantly carry the puck into the zone. It drives me crazy when I see Simmonds try and do it. He's one of the best board players in the league.

- PhillySportsGuy

unless there is a clear lane, every time you hit that red line or jut inside the blue line, the puck should be getting chipped/dumped in

And so begins the Zep.

Dazed and Confused kicks off this season's GiG playoff intermission tradition

He looked a little jumpy in there. and played small. I'd love for him to pull a Halak and frustrate them the rest of the series.

Flyers having a heckuva time coming out of their zone still. I feel like the Rangers come out a lot more easily and with great speed.
- Pixote Andolini

a couple of times the Flyers had clear possession and just seemed to want to come out slowly, then in a second the Rangers forecheck was on top of them.

too much hesitating in their own zone ... and too much the puck not settling down in the O zone.

I wouldn't worry one bit. I think he'll bounce back right away. I love Bob. He's a true competitor and won't let one bad game drag him down.
- PhillySportsGuy

I hope so. He has during the regular season. I'm a big Bob fan too.

Speaking of the Yotes I purchased an OEL tee to go along with Datsyuk and Pietrangelo as my non Flyer shirts.

In my opinion

A couple of Flyers were flat out tackled, the cross check to Giroux. If the ref is going to let them play, then let them play.

It also prevents the Rangers from using their speed on the counter attack. Even if they lose the battle down low, the team is still in good position.

The Flyers just need to accept this game needs to be played conservatively because they won't be getting 4 on Lundqvist very often.

You gotta know that the coaches are gonna shut down that fire wagon stuff tomorrow. Was fun to watch though.

In my opinion

Team defense was solid for the most part. Just would like to see a little more zone time in the Rangers end.

Maybe in the Tampa Montreal series, but the Pens have played this way for years now. They won't be turning into the 90s Devils overnight.
