Wasn't that just a battle? If every one of those is called, gonna be a lot of PPs
- Hextall271

IN MY OPINION

It was a penalty, but the problem was there were a few plays where the Rangers should of been penalized. Just call it consistently.

great play by luke.

raffl has to shoot that curling into the high slot, don't pass up slot shots to try to get it to the point. you have space in middle of the ice, take it

- dillpx183

Yeah, I scared the cat shouting at the TV on that one.

Flyers got a bit too fancy on a few of those chances.
- FlyerGuy

yes, they did. keep it simple and get it on net with traffic driving for loose change. csp is leaving it all over the ice.

At least the Garden is ancient. What's the excuse for newer WFC?

Flyers are winning almost every battle behind the Rangers net. Thats where the puck needs to get to.
- PhillySportsGuy

unfortunately the puck was in the Flyers end WAY too much.

Yup, very noticeable. Did you catch any of the those track meets last night? TAM/MTL was very entertaining.
- rockychocbill

Parts of that Tampa/Montreal game. Both goaltenders didn't really help their teams too much.

I'd say the Flyers have carried Emery more here than he has carried them.

if the puck will settle, one of these times the first guy is going to take the rags to the boards and the 2nd flyer is going to swoop in coming out the other side cleanly with the puck

i agree. that was a good period *for them* at msg. i'll take a 1-1 tie going into the 2nd.
- hammarby31

I think they got better as the period went on. I would say the Flyers had more possession time over the final 10 minutes while the Rangers probably won the first 10 minutes.

Yup, that pass was ill advised. Quite often those end up going the other way for a quality scoring chance.

Flyers having a heckuva time coming out of their zone still. I feel like the Rangers come out a lot more easily and with great speed.

I just hope Art Ross Akeson can hold up along the boards because he is helping that line get through the neutral zone effectively.

Rangers have dominated so far.

Flyers need to get the legs moving, outskated all over the ice.

- flyer_nutter

IN MY OPINION

I'd give the Rangers the edge in play. But they haven't dominated.

I would like them to keep it simple. The dump and chase method is much better.

Frankly, they don't have the possession players to constantly carry the puck into the zone. It drives me crazy when I see Simmonds try and do it. He's one of the best board players in the league.

Goaltending was sketch all around last night. Our old buddy Bob had quite a stinker. Everything went through him like a colander.

Rangers had edge in play, but not by a huge margin. Shots are 14-6, but shot attempts are 20-14 and the chances are about the same.

I wouldn't worry one bit. I think he'll bounce back right away. I love Bob. He's a true competitor and won't let one bad game drag him down.
