myers could post a season high in point totals and we'd still be dead last.

Girgenson could post double his points and we'd still be dead last.

Risto and zadorov aren't a risk for 30 or 40 point seasons. Risto played 34 games in buffalo and had a massive 4 total points.

hodge DID post a season high of 44 whopping points. ennis wasn't far off with 43 points.

stafford is a 50 point guy, even in his best seasons.

60 percent of the roster could have their best year ever and we'd still be dead last.

thats how bad we are.

- Putzfrau

Dead last takes a special kind of bad. Like Villie Leino bad. Like we went through 10 goalies bad. Like Ron Rolston and Darcy Regeir bad. Im just not sure we have that kind of 'bad' in us.

Source?

Is there a reason why?

- bluengold12

Maybe I shouldn't have just said healthy scratch. But there was a tweet from before that he was just going to be scratched. And he played the last game till the end, and they never said anything about him being hurt. I mean, it's possible he's hurt, I just don't know why they wouldn't have announced an injury. He looked fine in the last game.

Because next year you won't even have half a year of Miller, Ott, Vanek/Moulson...

You keep kids like Ristolienen, Zadorov, and maybe even Pysyk (early on at least), in Rochester

.
Tim Murray even laid out such a strategy in his end-of-yr pressed.

Ristolienen and Pysyk will be here full time next year

but point totals are related to goals scored.

and i've been hearing a lot what a bad goal scoring team we are.

we could have scored 30 more 5 on 5 goals and still have been dead last. we had .5 less goals per game then the next worst team.

and this upcoming year we wont have miller.

we will be absolutely bottom 5 next year, and i feel extremely confident saying we will be right in the mix for the top draft pick. we are that bad.

like i said, 50% of our roster could post season best point totals and we'd probably still be dead last.

- Putzfrau

With our poopty luck I could see us finishing 27th, then getting bumped in the lottery.

since apparently i just dont get it, maybe someone can explain it to me.

we have all these talented players on the roster currently just WAITING to bust out so we aren't absolutely horrendous next year.

What do we need from stewart, ennis, hodge, meyers, stafford.

what kind of point totals will we have to see to not be dead last?

remember we wont have miller, so our goals against will probably go up, slightly at the very least.

Pysyk definitely.

But Risto could easily spend half the first half of the season in the AHL, if not the entire yr.

we could have been much better th is season and still been dead last.

we dont have to be THAT bad. dead last usually is a 60ish point team.

we could earn 10 -15 more points next season and still compete for the top pick.

remember we played half of this year with vanek/moulson, and miller/ott. there was talent on this team at some point during the year. we were still that bad.

we were a worse team at the end of the year then during the middle of the season. we could literally just pluck a 50 goal scorer and add him right to the roster and we'd still be dead last.

While I'll give you credit for creativity I don't like the idea at all.. I'm in line with making the NHL Draft like the NFL one so obviously any way that makes it more difficult on the last place team than it all ready is which now is essentially the 2nd worst team seems to win the lottery.. I'm not going to like it.

We aren't the only team in the NHL. You seem to ignore this.

We also are going to be forced to spend at least a little bit of money on NHL players.

Ristolinan dominated here and was easily and unquestionably the best defenseman for the end of the season.. Both Nolan and Murray have said as long as he doesn't have a melt down in training camp he'll never play in the AHL again yet everyone wants to forget this..

And yeah whoever we draft doesn't have to but if they are good enough they will play here.

honestly its pretty mind boggling to think just how truly horrendous we were this year. by comparison the 2011-2012 season the habs posted a 75 point season and finished last in the eastern conference. Year before panthers were last wiht a 72 point season.

the last place team for both years were 65 and 62 points respectively. and those teams were almost 10 points worse then the next worst team.

its crazy.

To be fair, we all said that about Foligno. And I wouldn't say he "dominated" either.

really? the league isn't composed of 1 team? this is news to me.

i asked pretty explicitly before what team even potentially could be worse then us next year. in my opinion calgary is the only option, and they are a much MUCH better team then we are, and could arguably be better next year then they are now.

we could potentially be worse next year. think of that. we wont have miller, wont have ott, wont have moulson or vanek. hodgson, ennis, stafford aren't going to explode for 60 points, especially given the roster we have. risto could quadruple his point totals and still post less then 25 points in an entire season.

i'm assuming we will play better. what you seem to ignore is just how truly truly horrendous we were this year, and just how much better we could play and still be dead last

Nolan is quoted on saying something along the lines of

"As long as he doesn't regress in training camp next year he may never see the AHL again..."

Sounds like he'll be up here.. If anything maybe Pysyk splits time but I think he'll be here next year..

No Talinder no Sulzer hopefully no McBain maybe no Ehrhoff? Spots will be open.
