I hate Montréal. I hate the city. I hate their hockey team. I hate driving on their poopty roads and streets. I hate their corrupted politicians. I hate their tax system. Tampa in 5 please! |

I don't doubt that Columbus will give the Pens more problems than many think, but your outcome doesn't support your analysis at all. Columbus in 6? You've got to be joking. Sorry, this is the Pens to lose--and I doubt they will. You're also aware that this series is likely all home games for Pens fans? Have you seen a Pittsburgh and Columbus game in Columbus yet? Complete takeover.
It'll be up to Boston or Philly to kick the crap out of us, and I have no doubts they will. - Rawrski8771
it will be phili but the pens will survive and play for lord stanley's cup. |

EK - For readers that are new to the site, you should put the following at the top of any analysis of the Pens: "I am a noted Flyers homer, and hate anything/everything Pittsburgh, Penguins. Please note that anything written below was done with orange shaded glasses and was specifically done to irritate Pens fans. No analysis below should be taken at face value." |

Agreed!!! HAHAHA The Blue Jackets have as much chance as the Red Wings in round 1.... that'd be ZERO chance if you couldn't keep up - Brandon

Very exciting night of game 1s so far. Really fast paced game over here in Tampa, kind of a heartbreaking loss but still very exciting nonetheless, excited to see what happens in the next games. So far the Ducks have pretty much dominated but Dallas refuses to let them take game 1. And then we have the Columbus and Pittsburgh game, and I'm actually very upset with this one. The Jackets absolutely played their heart out and easily deserved to win this one. Outworked the Penguins, outplayed them, out-hit them, and even outshot them. But even as an unbiased person to bith if these teams, I can't help but notice one huge thing that sticks out like a sore thumb, whether Pens fans want to admit it or not. Absolute one sided officiating, and like I said this isn't the first time either. The Penguins 2nd and 3rd goals were both from powerplays that were the most absolutely ridiculous penalties I've ever seen. Seeing how badly the penguins were getting beat 5 on 5 I can almost guarantee that this game would have ended somewhere around 4-2 Blue Jackets. There were numerous occasions where Penguins were getting away with obvious interferences, slashes, and much others. Now I'm a huge fan of letting then play in the playoffs, but what's unsettling is that the Blue Jackets WOULD get called for the same exact things. In fact the Penguins at one point were getting away with something skyward of 15 cross checks after the whistle, directly in front of the referees. Like I said, I'm not sour as I'm not a fan of either of these teams, but I feel for the Blue Jackets. This series would have been feeling an entirely different way had they not had a crucial game one robbed right from them. If I'm a penguins fan I can't really feel too good about this win either, the obvious playoff problems they face year after year are still clearly there, but when you're given a win it's easy to overlook that. |
