I only skimmed this, but no. - jmatchett383
Neither Winnipeg nor Toronto nor Hartnell would do these trades. |

I don't want jagr. I know he and g had chemistry but he is going to be 42 and you don't get better with age. It will catch up to him. And i know what he did this year. But look at the philles. Thought they could keep getting one more year and now look at the aged roster. - J35Bacher
I know he's not putting up numbers in his youth years but 67 points this season is pretty remarkable given his age. And he still plays with gas in the tank. I'd love to add him back to the roster.

Even if his production dips to around 40 points, his presence in the locker room would be fantastic.
But why think about this when we can fantasize about crazy blockbuster trades that change the complexion of the team? |

Jagr will be too expensive, and he'll want to go somewhere he is guaranteed 1st line minutes. |

Disagree Your giving too much to Winnipeg. I dont really want Kane either - Just5
So provide a better idea. I think the chance to get out of the Hartnell deal and get a guy like kane who can play on multiple lines and plays a fast gritty style would be good for this team. PLus he is younger and contractis not bad. You can't just run the same team out there year after year. there is always turnover somewhere in the lineup. |

Any truth to the fact that each playoff team is allowed to use a 10 lb sledgehammer for one shift each series? - jmatchett383
I'm not exactly sure, but I think the new CBA might have gotten rid of that one, something about the integrity of the game and protecting players from headshots.

His presence is not needed any more. I think G took the step forward this year as the leader and the new leadership group will be needed. As kimmo goes someone new steps in like Cooter or Striet and Vinny is still there. |

First of all, why do we need to "get out" of the Hartnell deal? He's actually had a good season, and seems to have good chemistry anywhere in the top-6, not to mention he and G have a good relationship off the ice.
Secondly, why are we giving up Braydon Schenn, who's finally showing signs of being the player he was picked as, plus his brother, who's finally showing signs of a brain, for a guy that Winnipeg has hinted at shopping? |

He would be on our first line. He's a better fit with Giroux than Jake. Jake is a distributor just like Giroux.
I would prefer Jagr on the top PP as well because he can really fire the puck.
The Flyers would be a very attractive option for Jagr.
Playoff team, knows the personnel and staff, enjoyed his time here, top line minutes, first line PP, has chemistry with certain players already and he gets to play with one of the best players in the world. |

I'd like to see:
To NJ:
Vorecek
L. Schenn
Hartnell
To PHI:
Sestito

The hell it isn't. Jagr is exactly the kind of player every championship team would want in the room when you hit a rough patch. Can never have too much of that. |

Possibly. I was trying to think logically because I know they need a center. and some help on the back end. Thats why I went with B.Schenn and L.Schenn. I added the pick because Kane's contract is not a bad contract in dollars and length. I would rather keep Cooter and make a shutdown line like the Devils d all those yers with Pandolfo and Madden and caused fits. |

With Trouba, Bosogian, Enstrom, and Buff on their back end, they don't need help there at all, and certainly much less than the Flyers do. |

Sans Hartnell and Downie I wouldn't trade any of our top 9 forwards for Kane. Incredibly overated player.
They Flyers could probably offer Laughton and the first and get a similar winger without having to trade away Coots or SChenn. |

Plus Jagr can relive his glory days, try to capture a little bit of that magic when he was younger and first pulled a Flyers jersey over his head. |

Kane provides the team with offense. They really aren't hurting for goals. They finished 8th in the league after getting off to a horrendous start.
If you're moving the Schenns, I would much rather go after a legit top pairing dman than Kane.
You're trade proposal is essentially Hartnell, Schenn, Schenn for Kane. Is Kane really worth 2 top 6 forwards and a top 6 defenseman? |

You bring Jagr back and Jakes numbers plummet. Kind of pointless. If you're adding anyone to the top line its a LW. |

I prefer to move sooner then later on guys like hartenll. is His his style going to allow him to continue to be successful as he gets older. Will him slowing down make him even more prone to bad penalties. I know the chemistry but i would like to be proactive instead of reactive once his speed and skills really decline. |

Anybody confirm whether Mason did or did not practice today?
Seth Rothman @RothmanHockey 7m
From #Flyers beat writers at their practice, Steve Mason (upper-body) did not practice today. Ray Emery could be in goal tomorrow for PHI.

Confirmed by like 10 sources. He wasn't at practice. Sam Carchidi has already written an article about how Emery is the likely starter. |
