this (frank)ing sucks. I don't care how you spin it or try to look at the bright side. they remained healthy all god damn year only to have some stupid Penguin schmuck make an bumhole play in the second to last game. (frank)ing pisses me off. I hope we play them in the second round so badly. Simmonds can send Schmegma into next year for all I care. |

Mason wasn't even at the practice facility today and he won't make the trip to NYC. This doesn't look good at all. I think we're looking at Emery for the foreseeable future. - PhillySportsGuy
Now I have changed my predictions to NY winning the series in 5. Sorry guys. Emery has my support but not my confidence |

Yep. This is not good - Hextall271
How do you go from this yesterday:
Mason was on the ice for about 40 minutes Tuesday, with most of that time spent doing extra work with goalie coach Jeff Reese. He also spent about 15 minutes taking part in drills during the full team practice.
To not even travelling with the team today? |

Or it could be great.
Here's how I see it.
We are back in the playoffs. It sucks not having playoff hockey. We have AT LEAST 4 more great games left to watch. With those 4 games, we get to see a guy who has battled career threatening character issues, a usually career ending necrotic hip, and multiple secondary stints show to the world that he REALLLY wants to be a starting goalie in this league still.
If there is one goalie that I think has enough heart to pull off something like this... its Ray Emery.
Lets go Flyers... we got some Rangers dreams to kill. |

Maybe wih Emery playing the Flyers will really be locked in on the defensive side of the puck. Sometimes teams rise to the occasion when the back up plays. - J35Bacher

I don't think he worked out since the injury (assumed concussion). Being able to work out is a significant step in overcoming concussion symptoms. I bet he had a reoccurrence during the workout. |

I cant imagine Mason will miss more than 2 games. We need Emery to win at least 1 game in NY and we'll be fine. Its a stretch but anything is possible |

Well.... It sucks. Initial reaction is that it sucks a lot.
However.
The optimist in me is coming around though. What we could see here is the team rallying around Emery to win for Mason. This team would not be in the playoffs without Mason in the creaee, and he worked and worked and worked this year- a microcosm of the Flyers themselves.
I hope the boys remember that and play hard for him and beat this (frank)ing team.
Emery has shown us he can play at a level good enough to keep the team in games on more than one occasion.
Just another set of adversities this team is going to have to overcome, just like they have been doing for the entire season.
They'd battle every game, build comebacks, prove us wrong time and time again during 3 gauntlets, made the playoffs after starting 1-7....who says they can't look this in the face and beat playoff teams with Emery in net.
Go Flyers. |

US! Im saying.. we have Emery in net. Not Michael "(frank)ing" Leighton.
Over the past 3 months he has a save % of .924
Lets givem a chance here. Hell, had he been in net in 2010.. you never know. |

Adversity.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the name of an old, old wooden ship?
