So are we thinking that Nashville and Ottawa may be the best two trading partners for Gagner?
- ChetManly

I see them as being some of the most active teams going into the draft, I cant see them risking on just UFAs to upgrade their teams

So if we get LD it would make sense that we bring in Goc to be 3c wouldn't it?

LD already said he looks up to him and I'm sure Goc could help the transition a bit for leon. If he were to make the team out of camp using a mackinnon type approach wouldn't be awful where we put him on wing and ease him into C at the NHL level.

Edit: I wouldn't mind doing the same with Bennett either. He can play wing for the majority of the first half at least (if he makes the squad same goes for ld) centers have it the worst and sheltering them on the wing could help development nicely

I can see them being aggressive this offseason, I have read their names linked to Stastny and Vanek if they make it to UFA, I think they want to add more skilled guys to their team.

Gags would be a good addition for them

- DDM-Coga

I think Vanek found a good fit in Montreal.

we almost got absolutely screwed in the Clifford trade. So any trade that's better than the worst trade ever is a good one?
- Morris

Haha well no just considering the Clifford proposal vs a potential 1st round pick makes you laugh. Can't see why we couldn't get a 1st round pick for gagner (think I'd want a roster player back tho)

wonder what the Sens will do, will they dump Spezza and his cap hit for other parts, maybe try to add Gags for 2nd line duties?
- DDM-Coga

They already have Turris and Zibenejad. Why would they want Gagner?

Trade Gordon then? I thought Gordon was good.

Hypothetical.

If we draft Draisaitl at 3. Would any of you entertain trading Gagner to say Nashville for the 11th pick? Then take Fluery or someone else that drops?

- Iggysbff

I would prefer gagner for Austin Watson. Big two way C. Still a prospect so maybe not a guaranteed nhler but has pedigree and decent stats in te minors.

I posted a couple pages back with a slight change.

Gagner + 3rd overall + lander for Nash first (13th?) + Wilson + Watson

I agree. We keep losing experience an non coming back. We need experience on this young team.

Do we have a spot for Goc? Gordon had a decent year. Arco will be on the team next year. I dont really see a place for Goc.

If we have te centre depth to play Gordon on the 4th line for 13 min a night, then our depth is good.

Nuge
Draisaitl
Goc
Gordon

Or if we sed back draisaitl then
Nuge
Goc
Gordon
4th centre signing that's gritty and tough

I'd consider that. Lander is a throw away at this point for me.

Arco would work for a year. Think he would excel more on the 2nd or 3rd line then on the 4th line though. Nuge, Arco, Goc, Gordon? Try it for 20 games?

Arco is on a one way deal. He WILL be with the oilers next season or traded.

Gagner could have a bounce back was one of the only Oilers that played with heart 2 years ago. I hope it was the jaw that hurt him this year. Did get a little better at the end of the year. Was hoping for more from him this year. I would be scared to sign him for more than 2 years.

Gagner was noticeably better when he got his cage off. And he got marginally bad bounces all year.

6G 19A 25p in 42games and better off the puck. That being said he's certainly upgradeable.

Maybe we will get lucky like with Schultz an sign Christian Folin. 6'3 210, big shot, 2 way, lots of sandpaper. Took a shot that went through the net against Vermont. Isn't done college but money can change anyone's mind.

Arco has to earn his spot. If he shows up better than Goc great but I'm not sure he's a better player. Maybe he could play a decent 3rw

Arco to me is a good injury replacement guy, not sure he is or should be considered a full time nhler yet

Signed with Minnesota 2 or so weeks ago.

We got Jordan oesterle who people have said will end up being a steal.

His coach said something along the lines of if he waited another year before going pro he would have been the hot commodity but because he went pro this year he slid under the radar.

He's a little smaller but nothing wrong with adding to the pool
