Two reasons. 1. I don't want it to go to your head. 2. When you're right it's usually means the Islanders are wrong.

Yep. Bailey got his highest point total as an Islander too when it didn't matter.
- Cptmjl

Nah, two different comparisons. Hamonic's play improved throughout the season where as Bailey did his usual act we've seen year after year.

I agree. I'm just unusually pissed about this team today. I think Hamonic will have a good year next season as long as the coach doesn't have him guard an imaginary dot on the ice no matter where the puck is. Even though I called it since day one hearing Snow say of course Capuano will be back next year like the rest of the world is a bunch of morons makes me physically ill. The most dangerous dumb people are the ones that actually believe they're smart. Hopefully LetsGoIsles is having a closed door meeting with him and is trying to talk some sense into the guy.

All kidding a side it really does suck being a fan of this team. I wish it wasn't in my blood

Yep. When I was about 5 years old my Grandfather bought me a Mets hat. He put it on my head and told me I was a Mets fan. I should have started crying. Thankfully I'm not a fan of baseball. We are also an Islander family.

I guess most of us here figured that next year was going to be a disaster. for those who feel we are going to be better or that we are trading or signing free agents are just crazy. This team has done nothing to help the NHL team for years.

It's Snow's job to build a successful team. There's more to it than just the players. If THIS team could play better with different coaches, trainers, equipment managers or any other position then Snow didn't do a good job.

So if Snow thinks Cappy will be a good coach next year he sucks at his job. If Snow didn't want to bring back Cappy but couldn't convince Wang he sucks at his job. Either way sticking with Cappy proves he shouldn't be the GM. If he is willing to stick with Cappy (for whatever reason) then no one should expect his next coaching decision to be any better. Be prepared for coach Weight and more disappointment.

- JimmyP

My point is that the team can continue a general progression towards being a decent playoff team with Snow, whereas with Cappy it would be little more than overacheiving. I don't want either, but I think Cappy is a worse coach than Snow GM.

Wow. I'm going to have to agree with this no matter how much it pains me. But. Doesn't this make Snow an even worse GM for keeping him on?

There is no face to save. Is there anyone still on board with this BS? Serious question to the masses.
- Cptmjl

Can't imagine there would be.
The end run is that we know we're stuck with Snow for a while longer. Now we know Cappy is here for at least the beginning of next season. I'll hope for dominos but would settle for just Cappy right now. I'm not greedy.

I have to disagree. I expect the next coach Snow hires to be another Gordon or Cappy (we know it will be Weight but that still proves my point). Snow has done well at only one aspect of his job. The rest are sorely lacking.

And the hits just keep coming

B.D. Gallof ‏@BDGallof 2m

Persistent rumor in NHL offices: Barroway wants out clause from Barclays as part of deal for #isles

B.D. Gallof ‏@BDGallof 2m

This way if revenue projections are below expectation for fixed number of yrs: would be able to MOVE team #isles (no likely NOT nassau)

B.D. Gallof ‏@BDGallof now

Also completely up to Barclays if there is truth to this bc no such clause exists in the current deal #isles

And Cappy has done well at none. I'm not asking that either be extended or last here for any significant period. However, knowing that both should be gone within two years, if you asked me who I want out NOW..Cappy ain't so happy.

Dan you actually didn't write this, right? "If the Islanders can actually be aggressive this offseason,,,," LMAO Dan, the Isles under Wang/Snow have never been really aggressive now, have they? Right!

Hearing #Isles to be aggressive this summer. Better late than never? Saying it here before everyone acts like they knew this all along.

The targets I see- 1 Starting goalie. 1 Vet dman. 1 Productive forward for top two lines.

It's bcs of the perpetual BS that people like Wang and Snow continue that there are problems like this. If that moron(Either Snow or Wang)iced a competitive team this would not even be an idea. When you continually ice a BS team and put a BS effort in and hire people like Capuano and Thompson you're going to get these half assed results. It's facking common sense.

Back when Snow did virtually nothing other than make draft selections and never really spoke to the media, yeah, there was a sense of mystery and some feeling that maybe he had a master plan he wasn’t sharing. His silence could be interpreted as him being sly and keeping his cards close to the vest. Sort of, “Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.” But after this season, when he actually tried to play on the big stage, I think the facade came crumbling down. This guy’s out of his league, at least as much as Cappy is.

And that is something the Islanders have nothing of
